Weaning off comfort milk..?

I'm Changing my LO from Aptamil Comfort to HiPP Organic today... Shall I straight swap it or wean her off the comfort milk?

my lo was on c&g comfort up until sat when i fed him a carton of c&g stage 1 as he was refusing the comfort. he has been on the stage 1 ever since...! get a few cartons in and try the odd feed with a carton if lo enjoys it and is settled after then just do a straight swap...!

Hipp Organic tastes quite different to other milks so you might struggle to get her to take it. I would go slowly, start replacing 1oz for 2 days with Hipp, 2oz for 2 days, 3oz for 3days etc. until you are fully on Hipp. I wanted to use Hipp with my LO but she wouldn't take it xx

Hi Hun, we was on the comfort and did a straight swap and we had no trouble at all. Just go for it but have some comfort to hand just in case?

My lo was really sick with the comfort and to be honest all the other milks we tried too but Hipp hS been brill.

I actually tasted some myself and it's quite sweet. I'm nuts I know lol x

I always try Lilys mill

That's why I want to swap from comfort, she's really sicky... She's liking HiPP at min, let's see how she is in a few days though

i know this is an old thread but can i ask how you got on with the change as i want to change my son from comfort milk to an organic milk, as he is constantly being sick after his feeds.

Hi... It went terribly wrong if you want me to be honest. That's main reason why I wanted to change because of the constant sickness. But when I changed, LO was sick even more :/, and she went back to screaming everynight (like she did before comfort milk - colic maybe?) - So I put her back on comfort milk and the unexplained screaming stopped. And she was happy in herself again.

Your LO might take to it, you could try him - Every LO reacts different, but for us it didn't work. Did you put him on comfort milk for colic? - If so, I wouldn't recommend changing milks tbh

I have just swapped to Comfort milk as all the screaming etc above was exactly how my son was, we started on sma changed to hipp which helped a little but not for long but touch wood the comfort is working wonders at the moment.

As said above if you swapped to comfort for colic etc I wouldn't change back but can always give it a go see how lo gets on.

I am weaning my LO off the Aptimel Comfort to Aptimel first milk, by starting with 5 oz of the comfort, and 1oz of the first milk, and then slowly increasing the first milk ratio. She is now on comfort 2oz, first milk 4oz!

i changed because of the sick, constipation and colic, my hv advised to start weaning him back on stage 1 milk so i might try doing it slowly and see how we get on, as the past week hez started been sick again and being very unsettled.so i cant harm to try.
