So to begin with I was over weight, I was probably 180 before I found out I was pregnant. Then as soon as I suspected I was pregnant I started eating like a mad women. At my First Dr appointment I was 189, which is what there using as my pre pregnancy weight..
Well after that first appointment I started eating healthy and trying to exercise to watch my weight, well even though I am doing good with diet I am still gaining weight! I was 200 today! I've gained 11lbs and Im only almost 18 weeks! I keep trying to keep my weight down but its just going up and up no matter what I do.. I need advice as to what to do, I was told only about 20 or 25lbs at the most is what I was suppose to gain with this pregnancy. And I have a long way to go still.. Help please! lol :nope:

Do you have access to a nutritionist? They can look at what your eating and tell you if its good enough.

If your eating healthy and getting exercise then don't worry your body will gain what it needs ,

Yes I have been eating pretty good, and trying to exercise as much as I can. But low and behold still gaining weight! I Have heard a lot of women not gaining much of anything at this stage, specially if they are overweight too.
Just am concerned that I am gaining too much too fast already, I am pretty worried about complications from it, and GD

If you are worried I would see if you can get an appointment with a nutritionist or talk to your doctor. But if you are eating healthy and you are trying to keep fit, casual walk every second or third day, then you should be fine and the weight gain will happen anyway.

I put on 30 + kgs with my first and this time I lost 5 kgs and then put 2 back on. So I'm not sure how that happened :S WIth my first I was exercising and eating healthy, but I still stacked on the weight. This time I think I am less healthy and don't do any exercise. So I am a tad confused haha

In pregnancy you loose controll of your body and like dream.dream said, if you are eating healthy and exercising and still putting on weight then that is how much your body needs and I wouldn't worry.

What are your portion sizes like? It sounds like you are doing well with the healthy eating, but it could be that you are eating too much still. That's shally my problem when I'm gaining weight. I eat pretty healthily 99% of the time, but I can eat too much at times. Perhaps have a look at that? Otherwise I agree with the other ladies, if you are eating well and staying active then your body will do what it needs to :)

I am almost exactly the same as you. I was overweight and now weigh 201. And I'm 18+4.

In my first pregnancy I gained almost 50lbs!!! And at that point I was eating well, exercising 5 days a week etc so I was baffled!! 2 weeks after the birth and I had lost 40lbs! Turns out it was mostly water retention and there wasn't much I could do to control that.

Honestly if you are eating well and exercising there isn't much else you can do. You certainly don't want to starve yourself or over exert yourself!
I know that it's hard, but try not to worry too much. Your body will do pretty much what it wants during pregnancy.
