Weight loss post child birth- did I lose to much to quick?

I gave birth 2 weeks ago, and today I weighed myself and am down about 29 lbs. I am very overweight though.. And not breast feeding. Does that seem like too much weight lost to quickly? I am already basically pre pregnancy weight again. I assume because I am overweight is the reason I lost so much.. Plus I had no appetite the past 2 weeks either.

Anything to be concerned with ya think?
 
I think it may be kind of normal lol. I am not overweight, but gained 40 lbs the first kid, and 50 lbs the next kid. I lost most of my weight pretty quickly too. It's amazing how much is water weight (have you been peeing a lot? :haha:). If you're not BF, that's really amazing though, to lose that much so quickly.

I know you're exhausted with the newborn, but do please try to get yourself some decent nutrition (or at least a multivitamin to make up for lost nutrients). There are some really yummy protein bars out there (Clif makes an excellent chocolate peanut butter one!).

If you undereat for too much longer your body may enter starvation mode and that means it converts all your macronutrients (proteins/carbs/fats) into stored fat. That would be no good! And it would jack with your metabolism long-term. So, try a protein bar, or just nibble on something every couple hours. :)

Get plenty of rest too, mama!! As best as you can :hugs:
 
I weighed myself a few days after birth and I had dropped 30 lbs!!! 2 months PP I was down 50 lbs and now I am down 60 lbs.

I had a big baby, but I think I must have had a lot of fluid/ water weight. Noone drops that much fat in a few days!
 
I was back to my pre pregnancy weight in 6 days. I'm not overweight, just lost quickly. You need to make sure you eat though.
 
Thanks all. I eat, maybe I just feel like my appetite is down since I used to devour my cabinets while pregnant lol
 
I lost 28 lb in 4 days, unfortunately the remainder doesn't appear to be coming off as quickly lol
 
I'd lost all the weight in three weeks or less and then lost more. I was thin before pregnancy and am now a few pounds smaller. I think it's totally normal. I was breastfeeding though and figured that had a lot to do with it. Definitely nothing to worry about.
 
Its fine and I expect your appetite will come back in the next week or so x
 
Completely normal. I lost all my baby weight by 3 weeks - then my appetite came back.
 
I lost all the weight I gained after 2 days of child birth :wacko: can't seem to keep it on.
 
I lost all my baby weight and was back in size 8 jeans within a week.. 4 weeks on ive had to start exercising as everything that hits my lips hits the hips too!
 
23lbs in first 2 weeks and a further 11lbs lost by 15 weeks. Have 11 to lose to get back to pre-pregnancy weight and well into a normal BMI range. Gained 44lbs by 36 weeks and stopped weighing at that point!
 
Well at 2 weeks pp I've lost 20lbs, I've got another 11 to go to be at pre pregnancy weight. Can't wait to put some of old clothes
 
I've always lost the pregnancy weight very quickly - back in my old jeans within a fortnight sort of thing. I didn't have scales up til recently but I hold steady at 10st most of the time and I know I was back at 10st within 1 month of DS3 arriving as that's when we got the scales lol.

You carry a lot of water weight in and immediately after pregnancy. You'll probably have noticed you wee a lot more recently than you did even when pg as you're getting rid of that. Appetite also stalls due to the shock of childbirth, and to allow your insides to get reorganised lol. It'll come back soon x
 
I think it must be normal! I don't have much appetite either - I mean, breastfeeding makes me hungry but then I start to snack or eat and I don't really want much of anything so I end up not finishing whatever I've started -- hard to describe, but this is very weird for me, I usually finish whatever I get and this coming from the person who could pack away the food the last few weeks of pregnancy, lol!

I gained about ~36-38 pounds during pregnancy (I also stopped paying attention, but when I weighed myself late last week I'd already lost 30 pounds!!! I knew it was a lot because suddenly I could put on those jeans that I wore when feeling bloated in first trimester and they fit :haha: So I've got another 8 pounds to go, but I've heard the last bit can be the most difficult to get rid of... I've already done several 6K (~3.5-4 mile) brisk walks, postnatal yoga + ab building exercises, etc and I've been cleared to start jogging again as of this Wednesday (one month out) :happydance: I preemptively signed up for a 5K fun run May 10 to get myself started... should be interesting to say the least!
 
It's now 3.5 weeks post partum and I've lost 36 lbs. I also am feeling very ill though. Ugh.
