WEIRD CRAVIG ALERT!! I am going mad for the smell of Bleach or sterilising fluid!!!!

This is bizzare but I can remember being like this with my two sons during pregnancy.
Its driving me bloody mad tho!
I cannot get enough of the smell of bleach or Milton sterilising fluid,
I have just been in my kitchen scrubbing the woktops with Milton fluid and at the weekend I cleaned the whole place, floor and all, with boiling water and bleach/Milton.
I know I am nesting,
but this is getting rediculous!!!!!!
I am obsessed with the smell of bleach!!!!!
As I say, I had this craving before.
Anyone else had very odd non food related cravings like this????
Please tell me I am not going mad lol

Someone up the road from me has just creasoted their fence - I find myself walking the dog past it at least a couple time a day - and slowing down to savour the smell!! I am guessing its ok as long as I dodnt get an urge to stop and lick the fence!!!

Creasote is a lovely smell.
Or tar.But bleach is the totall best!

As long as you're not getting an urge to actually take a swig, be careful you're not inhaling too many fumes, especially with the bleach!

Sometimes pickles and ice cream seems like such a normal craving!

Emx I am laughing so hard right now at the thought of you actually licking the fence!

The other day our bos brought Clorox disinfecting wipes into our control room and they are lemon scented and before she had even left the room I had the container cracked taking big wiffs of it!!!

lol i now have an urge to go creosote a fence lol
with my lil girl i loved the smell of dove soap but before it had been in water and flash lemon lol i would sit in the bathroom for ages with a bar of dove attached to my nose lol and i would mop my floor 8 times a day for the smell of flash???? weird lol
this time its soap and wash powder and now creosote pmsl

ooooooh you have pica! my mum had it with me- she craved coal!! basically means you are missing some random nutrient (but most of the time its something you dont really need a lot of anyway) ...same principle as a doggy eating grass when it's not feeling well!

There are going to be a lot of beautifully creasoted fences out there at this rate!!! I was really tempted to give our fence a quick brush over at the weekend.... but luckily as I can barely summon up the energy to brush my teeth at the moment, let alone a fence, I am making do with the fence down the road instead!!

I go mad for the smell of fresh wood shavings. When im mucking out the stables, I spend ages smelling handfuls when i open a fresh bale. They must be treated with something to make them smell so good but i could walk around with a bag attatched to my nose all day!!

this is my first pregnancy and just sine the start of my 3rd trimester all i can do is clean because i feel lik i need the smell of bleach, ive had to start spraying it on a tissue at night to smell it all the time, and its got so bad that i actually had to kidnap the bottle of bleach from the kitchen and keep it in my room ,

i just hope that it goes away when the baby comes cuz im gettin rather used to it so no ur not alone in ur crazy craving haha

Omg so glad i just seen this thread ive been thinkin im goin mad again.. Ive been craving for smell of Petrol n when we go to the petrol station i sit there wiv my ed out the window also for Rubber i av been sittin Sniffin a pair ov New school Pumps for weeks lol xx.

omg i fort it was just me , ive been craving petrol, turps , and also. sniffin my little girls school pumps the rubber is sooooo good ha . if i cud drip etrol on a cloth n sniff it al day n nite id be in heaven lol. but i kno its harmfuil so i just stick my ed out when we go to the petrol station fillin up lol xx so strange lol xxx

One of the pregnancy books I read said you should tell your doctor if you start having cravings for things like coal/bleach, etc. They may want to check you for a nutritional deficit. I don't know what causes this exactly, but I'd say definitely mention it to your doctor just in case!
