Weird question, probably TMI...

I had a missed MC a little over two months ago that ended with a D&C. I think after that I had the typical bleeding, no complications, and got my period about 6 weeks after the D&C (I think that is pretty standard?).

It is now about two weeks after my period and for the past three or four days, I have been spotting pretty much consistently throughout the day. Mostly bright red blood, sometimes darker. I started up on a new birth control about four weeks after my D&C per my doctors recommendation.

I'm not sure why I would be bleeding now... I never ever had spotting in between periods before all of this. Maybe it's just my body getting used to being on BC? Maybe I'm confusing my body? I don't know if this is any cause of concern or if I should talk to the doctor about this...

The bleeding started with a lot of cramping and pain as if I was about to start my period, which was strange, because it's not due for another two weeks.

Has anyone here dealt with anything similar after a MC? Or gone on BC after a MC?

Thank you, ladies... xx

I went on bc after my mc, but i did so about 5 months afterward so my body had a few cycles to "empty out" whatever bits were still there (for whatever reason my periods got heavier post-mc AND I now get mittelschmerz, which happens when I'm ovulating -pain worse than cramps if that's even possible). so when I went on the bc it took my body a little bit of time to adjust. I would not be surprised at all if the pill is causing you to have breakthrough bleeding even though you aren't due for your period. for a long time I had that along with terrible cramping and the horrible mittelschmerz pain, i was trying to stay on it 3 months at a time and eventually i realized 2 months is the most my body will allow. everyone's body is so different. of course if you're concerned the best thing to do is see a doctor, but because you did just start up on new bc i'd probably give my body a little more time to see if it gets back on track. messing around with hormones and whatnot are bound to confuse our bodies :hugs:

I had strange periods for a month or so (sorry, for a cycle or two )after the m/c; I wasn't charting as definitely needed some time to recover -- my GP told me to take some extra iron and try to not get too stressed (much easier said than done!).

best wishes
