Today is Alex's first birthday.
What happens?

I forget to close the stair gate and he fell down the stairs... Top to bottom. :dohh:v:nope::cry::cry:

He is totally fine, except for a couple of bruises, but what stupid thing for me to forget to do and what a horrid way for him to start the day.

Aww I am sorry Hun glad to hear that he's fine we all forget to do things please don't let it spoil your lovely day.

Happy birthday Alex xxx

Happy birthday, Alex! Glad he's ok and hope his day improves! Try not to beat yourself up, these things happen! :hugs:

Happy Birthday Alex - hope it's a fun day for you!!

And don't beat yourself up hun - accidents happen and when you have kid's it's an uncontrollable occurrence. I am sure he will forgive you when he gets his birthday cake later on! :haha:

Happy Birthday Alex - your birthday starts from now! xx

I'm sure he's forgotten already, and he certainly will when he sees his presents/cake! It's so easy to forget something, we all do it and he's fine. Go enjoy his birthday! ! :)

Aw jaybee :hugs: Thank goodness he's OK, it can happen so easily, Clara dived headfirst out of the highchair onto a tiled floor a couple of weeks ago because I put her in for a second without strapping her in while I grabbed something for Thomas. Thankfully she was fine too, I was certain we would be off to A&E. They are really more bouncy than you would think.

Hope the rest of the day goes well and happy birthday to Alex. Don't beat yourself up too much. At least you won't make that mistake again and no actual harm was done.

Happy birthday to Alex!

Sorry to hear about his accident. Don't beat yourself up over it though, these things happen to all of us and it's an easy oversight :hugs:

Happy birthday alex! it must be a curse of the first bd bc i made the stupidest mistake ever on dd first bd. i made her a cake top eat/play with but wanted to get a pick of her with it first so i sat it on her high chair then without out thinking i lit the candle!!! so what does lo do, being a baby thqt wants to fgrab everything new she grqbs the lit candle and burns her fingers. So as dh laughes at my stupidity and both me and lo are crying he comes out with 'at least we will never forget her first birthday!' I could have killed him. Thankfully she was ok and it didnt blister but i still feel bad about it when i see a pic from her bd. I will not make thqt mistake again!! Hope this makes you feel better that you are not alone in kids getting hurt on their birthdays :)

Happy birthday Alex!

I'm sure he's already forgotten about his accident. These things tend to bother the mother much more than the baby.

My mum did the same thing with my sister on her 1st birthday and she hasn't held it against her :flower: I hope you have a lovely day aside from that and happy birthday to your LO.

Thanks everyone.
We did have a good day, lots of playing in the garden and presents and BBQ.

Happy Birthday to your LO! :cake:

I'm dreading the day Logan falls down the stairs and i know it WILL happen, he's just so clumsy!

On our nephews first birthday last year, my OH accidentally kneed our nephew in the back of the head sending him flying forwards face first into the babygate! Our nephew forgot about it not long after but it's still brought up to this day to make OH feel bad lol

Happy Birthday Alex!

Try not to dwell on what happened - the main thing is that he is FINE. Accidents happen - I've left the babygate open before but I've just been lucky in that the babies went into the bedrooms rather than towards the stairs. It must have been awful for you but he is ok and that's the main thing. We aren't faultless as parents - we are human and we make mistakes.

It's good that you (and Alex) enjoyed your day xxxx
