wessex fertility or woking nuffield

hi ladies having found out we need ivf i now need to choose a clinic i live near basingstoke and want to use a clinic near by so really its down to these two recommended by my fs does anyone have any experience with either of these clinics

I'm at the wessex have been for my 1st attempt and this is my 2nd at the moment. It's cheaper than woking.

The benefit of wessex is you can do all your scans at the basingstoke satellite clinic which is much better as scans are every other day sometimes.

Nice ladies run the wessex and have a good level of care.

thanks for that can i ask is the egg collection really painful (not that it matters ) would just like to be prepared if it is lol

Completely sedated during EC so don't feel much. Tender now but the one thing I got last time was major trapped wind but this time (so far) not half as bad due to diff drugs this time I guess.

ive just been looking at the hfea website success rates and it looks like im going to go to wessex

Hi there, I've had IVF treatment at Woking Nuffield twice. Unfortunately both times were BFN but they are lovely there. Can't comment on the costs as both times were under the NHS. Seeing our consultant next week following latest BFN to see what he suggests for next time, as if he suggests the same protocol again, bearing in mind the last 2 times didn't work, we might look elsewhere to try again. Although at the mo absolutely no idea where! I live in Guildford and work near Wokingham. Last time I looked I couldn't find Woking Nuffield's success rates on the HFEA website but they are on their own website if you google it.

Raf-wife make sure you look in detail at hfea site as it breaks it down into age categories and how many people got to transfer stage, how many they transfered etc etc it all affects the odds.

I orginally chose the wessex as their egg sharing programme is better than woking but i then decided not to egg share.
