My LO is currently in a cotbed and will be till 2+ most likely, then it converts into a toddler bed which I imagine will be suitable until about age 4.

Just wondering if 4 is a good age for a midsleeper? Something like this:

I'm thinking this will be a good "you're starting school!" gift. Especially as it has the built in work station, and storage as it's a small room.

A colleague of mine has her 4 year old in a cabin bed which I believe is the same. Definitely getting one for Bella for 5 when she starts school. She has a pretty small room so the under storage stuff will come in very handy!

We got Joshua one earlier this year, so he was 5 years old. He probably would have been ok at 4. It has a tunnel, tower and a tent. We got his from Very for about £170. I'd recommend it, easy to put together and very solid.

Jacob (3 years old) does ok climbing up but a bit dodgy coming down. I wouldn't expect he'd be able to get able to climb down in the middle of the night if he needed the loo.

I would personally say 4 years old at the youngest depending upon the child.

That's a nice looking bed. We got our daughter a very similar looking one from M&S.

Iro of age I think it depends on your child. We put our daughter into her midi sleeper at just turned 3. I had lots of people say to me that she was far too young and they thought 5 or 6 would be better. However she is such a climber and has been since she could walk. She knows her limits too so we knew she would be fine with it. She's been in it for nearly 2 years now and only once has she had an accident and that was because she lost her footing climbing down. She goes through phases of getting down herself in the morning and then all if a sudden she'll decide she wants someone to get her-I think it tends to be the darker mornings when she prefers someone to get her.
One thing I would say is that it's not always easy to change the bedding on midi/high sleepers.

So if you think she'll be fine at 4 then I'd do it. We got our son a proper high sleeper when he was 6 and he loves it :)

My eldest is 4 and would be ok with that, I took his bed guard off earlier this year and he hasn't ever fallen out of bed, the bed you show has a wooden railing around it so I'm sure that bed is fine. We took him to Thomasland a couple of months ago and stayed in a Thomas themed room which was a high bunk bed, he slept in it no problems, the railing was similar to that one and it kept him safe. I'm thinking about putting the boys in the same room and getting bunk beds for when our youngest is 2ish (he would go in the bottom obviously!) so DS1 would be 5.

My eldest would LOVE that!! He's just turned 5 and would definitely be OK in that i would think since 4ish. Just be aware that toddler beds -my boys have outgrown theirs. Earl needed a single at 3 and i think Edward will be the same. I'm opting to buy him an IKEA one which is slightly longer but as we cant fit 2 singles and cant have bunks its a bit of a nightmare lol

I'm looking at getting one like that for my nearly 5 yr old at the moment.

I'd agree with toddler beds not lasting as long as you think. My DS is pretty average height for his age and is fine in his Ikea extending bed set at 160cm (I think). But he wouldn't fit comfortably in a toddler bed still now and prob wouldn't for the last year. He likes to stretch out too much.
