Today there was festival by the harbour so I went with a mum friend and took Ivy in the carrier, she was on my back. When we got there we went to the kids area and some slightly drunk twat noticed Ivy on my back and started saying 'you are at the front,she can't see you...WHATS THAT ALL ABOUT?!'....I think it was an attempt to be funny. I kind of smiled to be polite but then he was going on about how I should let her see me, like he had never seen a fucking child in a back carrier before! And then, the worst part of all, he leaned towards Ivy and said 'YOUR MUM DOESN'T LOVE YOU, SHE DOESN'T WANT TO LOOK AT YOU'. I was very close to telling him to fuck off but we were surrounded by kids so I refrained and ignored him! He then just went 'I do apologise' but I just walked away, I don't even know what he was doing in the kids area because he was completely alone. It was the weirdest thing, why was he so mortified that Ivy couldn't physically see my face?! I didn't see him go up to women with forward facing buggies and say the same thing?! Fucking idiot.

Oh my gosh that's horrible and when people put you down, it really lowers your confidence.. I would have slapped him.. I'm sorry you had to experience that!) Aff some people shouldn't be allowed on the streets if they can't say anything nice at all! I think it's lovely to have them on the back (though i've yet to master this skill) Take no notice I hope you feel better soon.

Really? We went down at about 3 and I thought it seemed really empty and tame! It filled up reaaaaally fast though. I was a bit disapppointed to be honest, had WAY more fun at St Pauls Carnival and that was free! Ivy had a lot of fun dancing though, she went a bit nuts

i've had similar reactions in Bristol - nooone blinks an eyelid in London. was so strange i had stink eye from loads of people and then this man stood dead in his tracks, pointed, and said really louldy to his wife- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? er... a baby mate!

Really? Thats funny because where I am in Bristol there are SO MANY babywearers its unreal, there are constantly men and women using Ergos!
