Hi everyone,

Well after the mw appointment yesterday where she sounded like it was quite common for a 3rd tri loss i have become really depressed.

This baby is my last chance at being a mum, i know most wont understand what that feels like but it's made me super anxious.

Anyway everything looks fine so far, no problems with the baby moving, not all day but she does have her time in the evening so i have to wait till then to count them, but i do get like over 50 a day atm.

So if everything was ok at my 20 week scan and everything is ok now, they wont be doing any more scans apparently which has got me worried so i might get a private one done, but had my 28 week appt yesterday and i was measuring 30cm, i was 27cm at my 25 week appt.

Now i can't find the stats on 3rd tri losses but i know a few real life friends who've had them, including my mum so i know it's not unheard of but is it really that common?

I went to NCT last night and they were all talking about what they were buying and i felt really bad as i haven't been able to bring myself to buying anything for baby just in case :(

Sorry for the ramble, am really tired and teary :(

I dont know the stats on 3rd tri losses. I would try not to look into it too much as you could end up scaring yourself even more. Huge hugs from me ad=nd im so sorry you are feeling so sad. I really hope you feel better soon. xx

I can't believe your MW said that, I understand that a loss at any stage is possible. And I too am petrified that something will go wrong, but I think that's only natural. I thought my MW was insensitive and incompetant, but yours wins on that one.

I don't know the stats on 3rd tri loss, but the worry she has just caused you will surely not help. Easier said than done I know, but try not to let her get to you and try to enjoy your pregnancy.

:dust::hug::dust:

Hun i don't know the stats, but i agree, i don't think researching this info will help you at all.

It sounds like your MW was possibly a little flipant (sp?) by saying such things to you, ok be aware of movements etc, but excessive worry will do you and LO no good at all. Your MW should be more aware of your concerns after all your effort to have this little princess :hugs:

Try not to worry, every day is a day closer to cuddling your LO xxx

Thanks everyone, researching it wont help, i'm sure i have more chance having a baby at the end than not having one, I found it easier to cope when i was in denial i was even pregnant so might just go with that for a few more weeks :D

That sucks and plays on the fears us pregnant women can have all throughout pregnancy. The important thing is to remember, as you said, that it's A LOT less common in the third trimester than it was in the first, when the majority of losses happen. Obviously there's no guarantees in life, but sometimes keeping things in perspective like that can help ease the worry a bit. And you've probably heard this before anyway, but as parents the worry begins at conception and never really ends, LOL...if it's not this it'll be something else after baby is here, etc etc... so if you can sometimes, try to step outside the worry box and have a chuckle at it all...we give birth to our hearts and worry forevermore for out babies as they venture out into the world. It's just the curse and the blessing of parenthood all rolled up into one, lol... rest easy and try to just enjoy your time being pregnant. :)
