Hello everyone..
What brings me here is, well, going to try to get pregnant..

A little about myself..

I have a 13 year old son, whom I got pregnant with in High School. He is the only child from the 5 year relationship I had with his father, although we never used protection. I would be lost without my son in my life, I owe him a lot..

This year I married the sweetest most understanding guy I've ever known. Although we've known each other for a long time, we were secretly seeing each other more recent years, and finally decided to come out in the open with it. When he was on leave before deployment with the US Army, we decided to get married, instead of waiting until he got back.

As soon as we got married, we stopped using protection. I knew I had 'some' problems conceiving, based on my past experiences, so I wasn't too surprised when it didn't happen. I promised him I would work on my health while he was deployed, so we can get pregnant.

About a month ago, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism as well as gluten intolerance (celiac). I have been doing a lot of reading online and noticed that both are linked to infertility. I have since been on a gluten free diet (grain free, too), and started Armour thyroid. I also started going to the gym on a more regular basis. The combination has allowed me start dropping some weight, which is great. I want to be healthy!

I have also seen a OB/GYN. I told her our plan of trying to conceive, was told that until we can't conceive for a year, that is when they start testing for problems. I told her we were planning on my husband's mid-tour leave to conceive. She is altering my period so that I am ovulating when he's home. She has also tested my progesterone last month by blood, and said I am ovulating. Yesterday, she also recommended that I take Clomid. She also put me on prenatal vitamins..

So... I have script for Clomid, a box of birth control, specific directions, and a blood draw during the month I take the Clomid for progesterone. I am doing a lot of research and reading up on the Clomid, since I was told I do ovulate, to see if it would be beneficial. We have a two week period to try and get pregnant, then he's gone until July (or longer) to finish up his year long deployment.

I apologize that this turned into a chapter instead of a short intro.. but I wanted to tell my whole story and what brought me here.. thank you for taking the time to read.. I look forward to learning a lot on this board and reading about others' experiences..
