for a boy?
Also, I love the word "citadel' (I'm a nerd, and have favorite words haha), I also love the meaning behind it (a stronghold, fortress). I have it tattooed on my shoulder too :] Anyway, would that be too weird for a girl's name? I realize I have really out-there taste in names, haha.

I actually like Jerusalem. And for some reason would nickname him Jeru, ALMOST sounds like Drew how I say it.

Now Citadel Im not real found of as I dont know quite how to say it.

sit-a-del

Citadel for a girls name not really.
Jerusalem - hmmm interesting - I think sounds kinda cool - for a boys name.

there is a rapper called "Jeru the damager"

I'm not really keen on either sorry hun, it'd be boring if we all had the same taste though. If you like them that's the main thing :D x

i think jerusalem sounds more like a boys name. oh now you've got me saying citadel citadel citadel over and over again in my head! what a great word

I like them both and think you could use either name for either sex.

But I read a book with a girl named Jerusha in it if you wanted a slight variation for a girl.

I totally get the favourite words thing too, one of mine is Chelonian but I'm not sure I'd use it as a babies name O:)

Lol I didnt know about Jeru the Damager Lol.

I still dont like Citadel now that I know how to say it. Jerusalem is good :)

:nope: Just my opinion... sorry...

I like cool words too, tho, by the way...

Sorry I do not like either, but its you who has to like it!

Really sorry but I dont like them, especially Citadel..it's on par with calling a baby Desk or Television or some other inanimate object. Also you said "the meaning behind it" but there isn't a meaning behind it, it literally IS a large gothic type castle within a city.

I think Jerusalem could make a good name, with Jeru or Salem as shorter versions. Citadel is a no no from me. It's a word that is used in everyday language, and as another poster has said would be as bad as naming your child after any other inanimate object like 'Desk' or 'Chair'

It's not quite like that though. Citadel isn't something I say every day and it does have a strong enough meaning to the OP that she has it tattooed on her body, so something more meaningful to her than a lot of reasons some people have when naming their baby.

And it can be shortened to some nicknames, Taddie, Del, Adele.

I'm not a fan of either. Sorry :(

But on a positive side, my house name at school is Citadel :happydance:

Citadel to me implies a kind of fortress - there may be jokes when she is older ie storming/conquering the citadel....:?
Still like Jerusalem for a boy tho

some searching found this

Jerusalem meaning "Vision of Peace" and yes its a biblical name.

I'm a bit skeptical over names which are a bit leftfield.

There sometimes has to be a middle ground between, your "Andrew's James' John's" and your "Zebadiah's, shatennaze and teapot"

I often think that when growing up a kid has to go through so much, why saddle them with that kind of deal.

anyway just my 2c's

for a boy?

Im afraid its not for me, just a bit of a mouthfull i think, Anyway of shortening it to a name you like :)

x
