What do you think of the name Ivy?

I already have a daughter called ava rose. So I'm not sure if they may be too similar? Everyone I've asked in person said they go well and aren't too similar

We are finding out the gender on Wednesday and I would like a name chosen before then so we can feel really attached to our little one.

So my partner really liked isla, but I just don't. I've tried to make myself like it but I just can't love it.

And then I came across ivy, and thought that name was more my style

So what do you think of Ivy Faith or Ivy Grace?

Only problem is my partners last name is Kelly, so it's out me off grace a little bit. So maybe faith goes better?

Also my baby is due start of August do you think giving a more wintry name is a problem?

My daughter is Ivy Grace

We only get nice comments about her name, I know it is increasing in popularity rapidly.

I wouldn't worry about the time of year she is due, I would have named my first girl Ivy regardless of the time of year she was born.

I love Ivy. I much prefer Grace as a middle, hate the name Faith, sorry! I don't think Ivy Grace Kelly is too bad.

Ivy is one of my favourites. I think Ava and Ivy are fine together, the first and last letters have very different sounds so I don't think they're too similar.

I love Ivy, I don't think its too similar to Ava. I'd use it in an Instant but I have an Evie, and that is deffo too similar x

I agree I like grace better as a middle name but I was just a bit worried about the whole 'grace kelly' thing but we will see.

I'm glad the majority think ava and Ivy are a good sibling set and not too matchu. I think I'll get a bit mixed up sometimes and start calling ava 'avie' but im sure it will be fine!

Only two more sleeps until I hopefully find out the gender xx

I think Ava & Ivy go perfectly as a sib-set! Both names are so pretty!

I know of sister's named Ava & Mya - this is another pretty option!

How about since you have Rose as a middle name, you also pair Ivy with a flowery middle name?

I would avoid "Grace Kelly" personally, and i'm not a fan of the name Faith.

Ivy is one of my all time favourite names. do you have a family member you could use middle name after. I find alot of lo's have middle names like grace/faith etc cause they are pretty. I would go for something a bit more traditional In saying that I really like pp's suggestion of Ivy violet

Thank you both for your replies. We don't have any family names we can use. My daughters middle name is rose but that's my sisters Middle name that I thought was pretty.

We just want something that's pretty and flows well, I'm finding it hard to come up with a middle name. My partner loves faith, so if it ends up being a girl and he agrees with Ivy I'll let him choose the middle name

I do like ivy violet, but I'm not sure what my Oh will think xx
