I have found myself looking at tv credits for names! lol. I want something a bit different and just seen the name Isabeau.... like Isabelle but a but different. I love the name Isabelle but it is a bit too popular at the mo so what are your HONEST thoughts on Isabeau? Izzi or Beau for short maybe

pronounced isa-bow or isa-be-u (as in the beginning or beautiful)?

isa-bow (as in bow tie) i think is sweet, very different but is very cute. xx

bow tie version lol. I have just tx me hubby and i am anxiously waiting on his reply. Just tx my mum and she said she liked it and my mum is honest with me cos when i told her i like Pixie she was like 'oh no, please dont' haha

The more i say it and see it the more i am falling in love with it.

So it would be pronouced like izza-bow but spealt Isabeau

Its unusual, I like the nickname Beau . xx

I dont really like it, I prefer maybe just beau

yeah i quite like it :) never heard of it before

my hubby doesn't like it :-(

boo on hubby! I thought it was kinda cute! Never heard it before! and all the nicknames she could have!

Pretty & different! Maybe it will grow on your hubby! FX'ed!

I think it's quite interesting, but it would be a little weird for me personally. The reference to "beau" is the translation to the word man, or gentlemen. So I'm not sure I could fall in love with that name, but it would be unique. I often suggest to people who ask me about names to put the word Doctor or dentist in front of the name. Will the name go well for the child in a professional setting as well as with friends. But in the end, the name is the choice of the parents and they can pick anything they like! Good luck! =)

Isabeau!!! I love it!! It's from Ladyhawke, Michelle Pfeiffer's character. Fabby make DH watch Ladyhawke, he'll come around!

It's an 80s movie set in medieval-ish time period. It's the only time I've ever heard the name. In the film it's pronounced "Iza-bow".

Just Beau is better, I think! I look at the credits for names too :haha: xx

"beau" is the male version of the female "belle" (beautiful) in French. So I personally wouldn't use Isabeau or Beau for a girl, because of it's origin clearly referring to a man.

It sounds a bit gimmicky :s which is a shame coz it is kinda cute!

I happen to love Isabeau because it was my best friend's middle name in high school. She was french.
