Hi Ladies, Up to 8 months preggers I cycled with my older son ( 8) to school every day, its about 1 1/2 miles down a tarmac flat footpath so no cars to worry about. I was moaning about not being able to cycle with our lo until she is 1 yr old and hubby has come home with a superb baby trailer. You cant buy them for under one as they have a floppy seat with no padding in and baby had to hold its head up so instead hubby welded some extra bars on a kiddy trailer and you can now clip our britax car seat into it instead. She sits in there all supported and padded as she does in the car, its not a bumpy ride and there are no cars so I m happy to us it to take her to school but what does everyone else think...are we mad???

lol, that so sounds like something my OH would do....... If you feel its safe enough then why not? Gets you and baby out.xx

Sounds fine to me - once there's no cars to worry about and you don't go too fast, LOL. Not much different from having LO in a pram really.

I cycled right up to the end of my pregnancy too - myself and OH actually cycled into the hospital to meet the consultant to book in the C-section, LOL - I would have cycled in to hospital to have him too if I didn't have to bring big hospital bag.

I dont see an issue with that, its sound perfectly safe ... my BIL used to put their LO on a backpack thing and go cycling, but to be honest that to me didnt feel safe if he fell lol but that sounds a lot safer to me. I was fancying getting one myself but didnt realise that baby had to be a year! eck! Sounds good hun!

so its obviously ok for babies to be in trailers although they say baby should be over 3 months.

Aww thanks guys! really nice to get positive comments! My oh is a love, he is brill at transforming and making stuff and my LO's 'chariot' arrived home from his workshop yesterday, its just an old cycle trailer that he welded a couple of extra bars in and put some hooks on to secure it. I will be huffing and puffing along the path again tomoro without worrying now!
