Hey everyone!
This is my first baby and also first time I will have ever not worked!!
I have a mortgage and usual bills so have saved a good amount of money to help pay bills when I'm on Stat mat pay but just freaking out at receiving £130 a week!!

I get 4 weeks paid hol then....
12 weeks at 100% pay
12 weeks 50% pay then
12 weeks stat mat pay at £130

Which I think is quite good. I waited til I had been with the company 2 years before falling pregnant so I got a better maternity package. Will just have to see how much I can take off month by month and as soon as I struggle I will have to go back.
Got great childcare free off both mothers so that's another worry off my mind.

How about the rest of you?

Xxxx

My package is

12 weeks "full pay"
6 weeks half
21 weeks SMP (@£135.45/week)

Don't forget to add on child benefit after baby is born (assuming you're eligible) and have a look to see what tax credits you can get.

My one piece of advice to anyone planning maternity leave (and I learnt this the hard way) is to get payroll to send you a breakdown of your monthly payments while on maternity leave - but do this before you go off so you can plan your finances and know exactly how much to expect when you open your payslip each month. I was meaning to get in touch with payroll for this because I wanted to see what my wage would drop to on SMP, but I kept putting it off. Anyway, I get paid every 25th of each month and it's a set salary so I have the same amount each month. I assumed this would be the case for my first couple of pays on maternity leave... MASSIVE shock when I opened my first payslip and had about £150 missing! I only just cleared a grand and obviously didn't plan for this. So I rang payroll and told them I was under the impression I get full pay for 12 weeks. She told me that normally we get a set wage every 25th of the month but on maternity leave it's worked out differently - by the week and day and I will never get the full amount that I'm used to getting (?!) So I asked her to send me a breakdown for the rest of my maternity leave. The last two months ain't looking pretty - but at least I can plan for that now. Anyway, some months are 4 weeks and 3 days, another is paid at 5 weeks and so many days, etc etc. I wasn't happy about it, but my own fault for not checking beforehand and at least now I know what my payslip will say before I open it and can try to plan each month.

Sorry for the essay, lol x

I get 6 weeks at 90% of my usual salary then SMP for the rest of the time, I get 9 months in total. Haven't decided when I'll start working again- I work from home so I'll probably start back once I'm getting up less then 6 times a night, otherwise my work won't make sense due to sleep deprivation :haha:

6 weeks @ 90%
12 weeks @ 50% +smp
17 weeks of smp
7 weeks of nothing
6 weeks of leave paid at 100%, technically back at work then but not in.
I guess that's about average. We've budgeted it all out so hopefully it'll all be ok.

I get 6 months full pay and 3 months SMP which sounds really good compared to a lot of other women xxxx

I'm having:
26 weeks full pay
13 weeks SMP
Then 8 weeks annual leave (full pay).

Roll on the 10th April !

Baby is due before being with my employer for a year. If I had been there a year I would have had 9 months on 90% pay - def staying there for number 2!

However I get 3 weeks holiday pay at 100%, 6 weeks at 90% then SMP. It means I will only be able to take 6 months. I'm lucky that my husband can pay all the bills with his salary so my money will be mine, I just won't have that much of it!

I'm also really lucky in that I'm paid weekly, so it should make figuring out how much to expect each time I'm paid easier.

I have the worst ever! I'm getting NO smp through work as they give all the staff a 0 hour contract, but I work 40+ hours a week.
So I get 6 weeks holidays on full pay, then 9 months maternity allowance which is £135 I think a week.

6 weeks at 90% and then SMP. We don't get any extras at my work :( Some of these packages look fab!

I haven't used up much maternity leave (left work at 38 weeks) so I get my maternity + parental leave which is almost 52 weeks. The government pays 55% for that duration.

Some companies here (Ontario, Canada) will add on top of that but unfortunately my company isn't really generous in that respect. I have a friend who is being topped up to 95% for the first 6 months then will take the rest at 55%.

Im having:
* 2 weeks paid holiday before maternity leave starts then
* 90% pay for 8 weeks then
* 18 weeks 50% pay plus SMP

So for the last 18 weeks i will be about £200 short of my usual pay per month but hopefully we will manage. I usually save £200+ a month so i guess ill just use that.Im only having 6 months off and wish i could afford to have the second six months off with only SMP but my OH's job doesnt pay enough. Looking forward to six whole months off with our LO tho then its back to work full time i go :( suppose we're lucky though because my mum will be looking after the baby 3-4 days a week and OH has two days off during the week so we dont have to pay for any childcare. Id love to be a stay at home mum though ..... dreaming of a lottery win!!!

4.5 months at full pay and from then to 39 weeks just the crappy SMP although just found out that the "car allowance" part of my salary also gets paid up to week 39 which is really helpful! After that nil up to 14 months (how long I'm off) although the last month of that is my accrued holiday so technically paid. We get a bonus of 2 months salary if we come back to work too x

I get 6 months full pay and 3 months SMP which sounds really good compared to a lot of other women xxxx

I get the same. After my 3 months SMP I get 3 months unpaid and then I have about 4/5 weeks full paid annual leave.

That sounds the same as mr, although I have opted not to take the 3 months unpaid. What do you do AmyGreen?

Honestly your all really lucky.

I am self employed and just get SMP for 39 weeks which I'm not complaining about as its better than nothing. But of course I would love 12 weeks full pay x

Same here, 90% for 6, then £130 whatever SMP until 9 months. I've been with work a long time (over 7 years) but it's a charity so I totally get they can't afford to supplement SMP.

In the USA it sucks! Some people get different what I get is 3 weeks at half pay before baby comes and 6 weeks after at half pay that's it

Technically, I get nothing, except 12 weeks unpaid where they hold my job. I do have short-term disability insurance (which I pay for) that will pay out 60% of my income for 5 weeks. Since my health insurance premiums can't be deducted from my paycheck while I am not receiving one, I have to pay those too, which will wipe out most of what I get from the short-term disability insurance. It really blows compared to what most of you get.

we get 26 weeks statutory pay in ireland at €217 - €262, depending on how much you've worked the year before. some places top that up to your salary for the 26 weeks, but they're not legally obliged to. luckily, my employers do. after that you can take up to a max of 16 weeks unpaid leave, which i will do if we can afford it. then i will have 7 weeks holidays for 2013 to take at full pay.

26 weeks full pay 100%
16 weeks unpaid 0%
7 weeks holiday pay 100%

49 weeks altogether? although 4 months with no income will be difficult to do. we'll see...
