what does this mean? :)

im probably being really thick .

i went to see my midwife today and im reading through the notes she wrote.... and im a bit confused on what some bits and words mean .

so i was wondering if any of you have any idea .

its got written:
presentation= ceph..... have no idea what ceph means, having a guess it has somthing to do with the way LO is laying .

position= ROA..... have absolutly no idea on this at all

fifths palpable= 4/5....... does this have somthing to do with head engagment... if so am i reading it right shes 4/5 engaged.... is this normal? does it mean she'll be making an early unexpected appearence soon?

also me and OH are off to parent craft classes tonight... quite excited ... im guessing its pretty much the same as antinatal classes

could someone help me with them queries pretty please

CEPH meads head down and 4/5 means that 1/5 of babies head is engaged. This is quite normal apparently and definately doesnt mean that baby is coming anytime soon! You hear of ladies who have been more engaged from earlier on and their babies are still late lol!x

Ceph means Cephalic, which is head down. 4/5 Means she is partially engaged, 0/5 would be fully engaged. I don't think it means she will come early, they can take ages and still become un-engaged I think. Not sure about ROA..

Hey hun

Ceph is head down, ROA is right occiput anterior(which is a good position) and i think 4/5 engaged means there is still 4/5 left to engage(i think lol) hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
