im still ''free''- so if by due date and thereafter theres no change, then what??

My friend had this and she had to have a c-section. not sure if this is right for everyone but i assume this is what normally happens.

You still have some time though :)

Baby can still engage whilst in active lobor so I wouldn't worry it would only result in section if your pelvis is too small for babies head xxx

Some babies don't engage until labour begins. Don't worry about it

My baby isn't engaged either, my midwife told me it means nothing. It can happen at any time.

in a word Nothing.

babies head 39+2 was free today at 40+2 nearly fullly engaged it doesnt mean anything

40+3 i was still free. it means nothing!! a lot of babies, specially second or subsequent babies don't engage until you're in labor.
Don't stress.xxx

My LO didn't engage until i was in labour and i had a natural birth with no tearing

Like most of the others have said, nothing happens. Sometimes all you need is a few good contractions to push baby down and BAM, engaged.
