As apparently I have one? And I've no clue what it is?

Sonographer said not to be alarmed if we can't find hb with Doppler as this could make it harder?

Any ideas? X

Hi hun, I have the same it's nothing to worry about, all it means is that your placenta is on the front of your uterus. I can't always find his HB, and movements feel reduced, but I feel it more on the left than on the right xx

Thanks girls, wasn't sure what it meant, can't remember this even being bought up in conversation with DD x

And both my twins have anterior p too!!!

I've got one as well. It was quite upsetting as a girl who was less far along than me was bragging about her baby kicking wayyyy before I felt mine kick :( I was nearly 20 weeks when I first felt him kick me (though he hasn't stopped since!).

Me too, though I have always been lucky hearing the heartbeat at my appointments. I don't feel very strong movements though. Apparently the anterior placenta is part of the reason why I'm not very big / bumpy too, as it means that baby sits further back.

This would explain why I'm still only really feeling flutters at 21 weeks... With DD they were proper nudges by now!

I'm gutted cuz I read threads where ladies oh's are feeling baby and my oh can't feel ours yet :-(

I was getting really worried and upset about not being able to feel mine. Every midwife appointment and scan I was expecting them to say "i'm sorry" but they always managed to find him.

Then suddenly on boxing day I got a hard boot in the ribs.
And now they feel all bruised and painful because it's his favourite spot :p

I have it too :)

No one mentioned it to me it was just in my notes !

And the weight part is right I have a bump but nit huge!!!

I have one too. My dr has always been able to find the HB since 10 weeks.

I feel movements mostly on the left of my pelvis and I still don't feel them every day. As all the other ladies assured me it's nothing to worry about :)

My friend who is a week behind me has it, and the doctors never told her lol. It finally took her asking if she had it because she couldn't feel the babies kicks from the outside at 24 weeks and I've been feeling mine since 20 weeks. The doctor was like "umm lemme look... yup you have it." haha. Glad they keep you informed!

Had my scan today and my placenta is in the anterior position which is why she told me I have not felt baby kick yet and that is okay, the scan showed a moving healthy wee girl so I know she is alive, hoping she kicks soon though

I was just a tiiiiny bit further along than you were when I first got a kick - so you should soon too hopefully! I warn you though, you'll be wanting her to stop soon after she starts :haha:

I have anterior too......and posterior. :dohh: My placenta has an extra lobe.

I think I have one too Loz. I read my notes today and it says Placenta: Anterior, Not low.

They never told me I had one. Does the not low thing mean that its only sort of anterior? Im wondering if thats why I havent really felt kicks up until now either (got some today I think.)x
