My little is just over 4 months old and up until recently has been a very easy going baby. She's nap when tired and would only get up once during the night to feed and was easy to settle again. She never really cried...not even when hungry.......until recently.

She's changed completely! She wakes several times a night (although is still only feed her once) and she creates at every nap time. She's very rarely content and getting her to take a bottle is a real struggle.

I know that the bottle thing is probably just because she's being nosey, but what about the sleep? Is this a growth spurt? The dreaded sleep regression? A fussy baby? Teething?

She's a nightmare just now. I want my happy baby back 😢

I've been going through the same thing. My daughter is 4 and half months old (adjusted age - 2 weeks early), and she's been a totally different baby. She doesn't so much wake up several times a night, but she cries out in her sleep. I don't wake her, but even if I tried, she'd wake for a few second then go back to sleep. After researching a bit, it looks like she's dreaming or experiencing night terrors of some sort. Doctors (online, so take it with a grain of salt) wrote that night terrors are caused by an information overload during the day, and/or over-tiredness. Now is also the time for separation anxiety, so that also comes in to play. The good news is, this phase will end.

There was also a link to a chart that another member cited. I don't have permission to access it, but here it is: https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/bab...nfo-chart.html

Thank you. She does sometimes cry out in her sleep. That's maybe because she sometimes goes a few hours without sleep before she goes to bed...purely because she refuses to nap!

I can't access that you link you put up, but it's reassuring to know it'll pass. I'd like that to be sooner rather than later though :)

Hopefully it passes soon!

Thank you. The little terror is trying to prove me wrong!

She woke up just after three this morning and took a small amount of milk (I think she woke up more out of habit than anything) and went back to sleep until 7.20am.

Still having the struggle with naps, but she has them downstairs at the moment. I'm thinking of moving them upstairs. It might help (I hope).

That's a good idea. I was having Alice nap in the living room during the day, but it's just too loud for her to get a quality nap. I moved her naps to the crib over the weekend, and she's napping much better.

4 month sleep regression is a nightmare. I've not read through the other comments (grizzly 12 month old) but there are leaps where they have development leaps and it effects everything.

There is an app where you can check it out xx

Thank you. She's calmed down a lot over the past few days. She's back to napping without and issue and is back to waking up once during the night. Thank goodness!
She's got a stinking cold though so I'm not sure if that's had a lot to do with it. Things are certainly a lot better. Fingers crossed it continues x
