We will buy a high chair this weekend. What do I need to look for? Padding? Straps? Size of the tray? I'm slightly clueless. Advice please, Ladies!

Cleanability. Watch out for seats with tiny crevices. Good God, the things I find sometimes...when did she last have peas??!!

I've had big, small, wood, plastic, padded... and i still have no clue...lol i currently have a wooden one but not sure how I'll like it once he can sit in it. I do try to avoid anything that can trap spills and crumbs

Portability! I have two that just strap to a standard chair (one for home, one for work) and we take them EVERYWHERE. They both break down for easy transport and are simple so theres not a lot of cracks for things to get stuck in.

Ease of cleaning!! We have the Ikea Antilop and it is fab as it has no fabric and no nooks and crannies. I genuinely have no idea how you're supposed to clean food off of a fabric highchair!!

I have the Stokke Tripp Trapp, and I love it! The main reasons we bought it is because it sits right at the table and looks like a real piece of furniture. We got the added baby kit to keep her in, but it's awesome! I wanted her to learn table manners right off the bat, and that she does not have her own space to eat and mess, she has to share her space and mind her behavior. For example, now she knows that if she pushes herself away from the table, she's not eating, she's done. We always repeat, "If you want more, you have to sit at the table like a big girl."

Ps---It's super-easy to clean, and the pads are washable.

+1 for the tripp trapp chair. We got a different brand though which was WAY cheaper and has a detachable tray. The tray is kind of pointless though, it'd be less mess to put her at the table.

The most important thing, I'd say, is ease of cleaning. We hose it down outside. Don't get one with fabric or lots of little holes. Seriously whoever makes some of these highchairs don't have a clue

+1 for the Ikea Antilop, easy to clean, sturdy, cheap, and the legs detach for if we want to take it anywhere.
