What should I see on a 6 week scan?

Hi girls, so some of you may remember me as I had an ectopic pregnancy last October

BUT the good news is...I's pregnant again! I've had 2 lots of BHcG and midwife says numbers are rising very nicely

So I know it could still all go wrong (please no!) But I've been booked in for an early scan at 6 weeks and wondered what I should see? Should there be a heartbeat at that stage?

I think it varies Hun but my friend did see a HB at her 6 week

Congratulations, fingers crossed for you this time.

I had a scan at 6+1 and saw the fetal pole and heartbeat, but sometimes you can miss these by just a couple of days, so don't be alarmed if you only see the yolk sac.

I've been for two scans at around 6 weeks and I saw just the yolk sac and a big black splodge (uterus) on one and a flickering black and white heartbeat at the other. Sadly, neither of my pregnancies progressed after this point but I'm now pregnant again and waiting for my 7 week scan on 2th April.

Hiya,
I had a scan at 6 weeks and i saw heartbeat but i had an internal scan as i hadn't drunk enough water! The baby was only 3mm big!!

I too had to have an internal scan at 6w3d (he could see plenty from the tummy scan but because there was/is a collection of annoying blood where it shouldn't be he wanted a closer look.) I have to confess that despite the lovely sonographers descriptions and pointing etc i saw naff all! Zip! It was just a fuzzy picture so when he flicked a switch and we heard a bold, fast heartbeat i was so shocked and moved!

He could see (not me) a yolk sac, liccle bubba (about 5.6 mm) and the unwanted collection of blood.

It was a lovely experience, i hope you enjoy yours too!

I had an ectopic too exactly a year ago too. Congrats on yoru pregnancy! My first scan was at 5 weeks and all they saw was a sac, and then at 6 weeks we saw the heart beat. Its such a stressful time. I was just delighted to see a baby in the uterus.

Dont be worried however if you dont see a hb, I think it can take up to 7 weeks.

I am thinking of you but i am sure it will be fine. xx
