I don't want to cut it!

Baby girl was born with a lot of dark hair, and then most of it rubbed off except for a strip down the middle (her Mohawk). It's all coming back in again, nice and thick, and the hair on top of her head is getting pretty long and is starting to hang in her eyes.

Any cute ways to keep it out of her face? I can't use anything hard to clip it back, because that would be dangerous on her soft spot. And I can't really use anything with big bows, because the other babies at daycare will try to pull it off her head!

I guess my options might be kind of limited! Someone suggested I get a small rubberband and do a Pebbles-inspired ponytail on top of her head! (Like the Flinstones.)

You can get clips that are spring-loaded so you don't have to press on her head, like these: https://www.amazon.com/8-Pack-Glitter-Clippies-No-Slip-Clips/dp/B005HQHMYY

Or the little Pebbles ponytail is always cute too :)

Hi there,

I just trimmed my Los hair so that it wasn't in her eyes, rather than cutting it as such. She's had it trimmed twice now.

I think you are limited on options, you could tie it up (although that style really reminds me of Yorkshire terrier dogs!) or get a small headband and push her fringe back so it's out of her eyes?

There are some great ones on eBay which are cheap

Sorry - I can't post a picture right now - I'm at work!

I use a clip but clip to to the side like a side fringe (bangs) that way its not near her soft spot. Pebbles style is cute but id use a soft hairband rather than a rubber band as it might give her a headache if its too tight

bananaz - cute clippies! I may have to check into those, but her other "new" hair isn't long enough to clip the longer hair into yet, haha! It's kind of weird right now!

Our family have always believed in never cutting a babies hair till they are one - dont ask why cos i dont have a clue lol

both the girls had massive fringes from very early on (attached is a photo of them boht age 8 months - Tay is now 3 and molly 10 months)

we use soft clips and headbands - photo attatched

We also pineapple..

see the attached photo..

Aw so cute! Wish i had this problem, lo is still pretty bald except its growing longer at the sides and back. Yes, like a MULLET! dear lord...!

Kizzy - So adorable! Thanks for sharing pics of your girls! My hubby threatens to cut her hair, but I keep telling him we are waiting until she's at least 4 haha (And that's just a personal preference!)

I'm jealous! My almost 6 month old DD has nothing but peach fuzz! She's the spitting image of my little sister at that age, and my sister didn't get any hair until she was almost 2! :haha:

We do the pebbles ponytail!

I think I'll try that tomorrow. I guess you can buy the different colored tiny dental braces rubber bands anywhere now, so they might work pretty good! As you can see, she only has about 12 strands of the really long stuff on her head. :haha:

I have a younger sister who didn't start getting any hair until she was 5! Poor girl! I had the same hair as my daughter at this age.

Thanks for posting this - I'm wondering what to do with my 4 month old DD's hair too! She has so much of it and it sticks up, especially at the back. We've started putting it in a comb over style to try to keep it out of her eyes, but I fear we'll be trimming it soon... Stalking this thread to see if there are any more suggestions!

Thought I'd post a photo from earlier today for you to see what I mean:
