I really hope I'm not offending anyone by posting this here as I know I'm not really LTTC. I just need some advice from people who have been in my shoes. I asked this in TTC but didn't get many answers. My DH and I have been trying for 13 months unsuccessfully. We use OPKs, softcups, DTD every other day, and I take prenatals. The time between my positive OPK and start of AF is 12 days and since ovulation can actually occur 12-36 hours after the positive OPK, I think there is a chance my progesterone may be low. I am really just curious what they may ask/do. :witch: caught me this morning so I will have it when I go on the 4th but I am not going to reschedule so I wonder if they can still do a pelvic exam? I waited for this appointment and I figure if I can at least talk about what is going on and get tests ordered that would be great, even if they can't do a pelvic exam. What questions may they ask and what might they do? Do they usually schedule any tests that day? I really hope that I am not offending anyone by posting in here since I am not LTTC like some ladies on here but I feel this will be the best place for the answers I need. Any advice/help/what I should look forward to will be great. My DH has 2 kids from his previous marriage so do you think they will still want him to get a SA done? Also, I am only 20 but my DH is 40 (please no mean comments on this...i tend to get weird looks/comments from people because of our age difference) so it is important to start having kids soon as we want 3 and this could take a while so I'm worried the doctor will look at my age and laugh me off. I've heard of it happening on here to women. Any advice and help about anything that will happen is very appreciated.

Good luck and lots and lots of :dust: to everyone on here :hugs:

At my appointment they sent me to have my blood drawn to test my progesterone levels. They also ordered a sperm analysis for my husband. It was time for my annual exam so she did an exam as well. After my blood work came back and my levels where normal I had a second appt. to discuss Clomid and Provera. The Provera was to start my periods since mine aren't regular and the clomid to make sure I'm ovulating. If you have been taking your basal temp take that to the appt. I have been trying to conceive just as long as you and I feel like that is long term. I realize not as long as some of the lovely ladies on here, but it can still feel like forever when everyone around you gets pregnant. Hope this helps.

When you feel you have been trying long term then you have been trying long term. Simple as that.

At my first appointment I had blood work done, examination done and hubby's SA was ordered (even though your doc may have done all this, the FS will still want their own as the are more thorough).

At my second appointment they put me on treatment.

In some places your age may have an effect but that is usually for treatments such as IVF, however, if you have been referred and got an appointment they already know your age so there won't be any issues with it.

I do hope you get your three little cherubs soon.

Good luck. X

I got stuff started early due to medical issues but by the 1year mark I had CD21 progesterone levels and CD3 bloods. My DH had sperm analysis. Had an abdominal + transvaginal U/S. I'm now waiting to book my HyCoSy for the next cycle. After that we'll have another followup to discuss all the results.

It was definitely nice to get things going although I'm worried about results. I at least know I'm ovulating form CD21 bloods and I have all my "parts" from the u/s. ;)

Good luck and I'm sure everything will go well. :)

Thank you all for your great help! Also, thanks for making me feel okay about posting in here. I realized that 1 year could be considered long-term but I guess I feel bad about considering myself long term when so many people on here have been trying so much longer.

Good luck and lots and lots of :dust: to all of you! :hugs:
