What to expect at 12 week scan/prenatal app? For those of you who've had it?

Hi ladies,
So the big day is Friday? Just wondering for those of you who've had it already what to expect?

Oh and do we NEED to have a full bladder? lol?

Any advice you have would be super!

I had my 12 wk scan on Monday, I could only manage to drink 1 litre of water before I went as it was early in morning and I struggle with morning sickness, she said I looked dry but we could see the baby perfectly and got some great pics. I then saw the midwife who took my height, weight and urine sample and took blood for the downs test. Don't worry about it, just enjoy seeing your baby, its pretty magical!

Hey hun i think the general rule is the more full your bladder the easier it is to see the baby, i drank half a bottle of a 1.5 Litre evian water and my bladder was pretty damn full haha. What happened whilst I was there was i had my scan, she done the NT scan check by checking the babys neck fold, i think this is a test for downs, i then had my blood pressure taken, provided my urine sample, had a chat with a doctor because my BMI is a little high *blush* and then had bloods taken for the downs test. I received my results in 2 days via the post. Hope this helps? xxx
