Yesterday I found out I've had a missed miscarriage. I was supposed to be 11w4d but baby measured 7w2d with no heartbeat. This was our first & we are completely devastated.

After talking with the doctor I have reluctantly decided to take misoprostol to start the miscarriage. I'll be taking them tomorrow at 6:00am. I know that the baby is dead but it still makes me so sad to think that I won't be pregnant anymore. We wanted this baby so badly.

I don't know how tomorrow will go, I've heard a lot of awful stories. Do things usually go pretty quickly? I don't know what to expect.

I got the miso from the clinic here but I never took it. My body did what it needed to before I got my brain around to the idea. Even though my baby died, it felt like killing still, and I couldn't get to a point where it was okay.

I wish you the best. I'm sorry your baby died too.

Hi sorry for your loss , I had these two weeks ago with my MMC , the hospital didn't explain what to expect when the gave them to me before my d&c. First of all it was horribly having to hold them under my tongue to dissolve for 30 mins , 30 mins after having them I started getting cramps , contractions (fairly painful) and started bleeding fairly heavy . Are you having a d&c or just the misoprostal?

I'll just be doing the pills so long as everything goes as it should. I have an ultrasound in a week to make sure everything comes out. I wanted a D&C but my insurance won't cover it. I felt like the pills were pretty much my only option.

I found out on tues 12/30 that our baby no longer had a heartbeat. I was 8 weeks. I decided to go with the tablets as I couldn't wait for it to pass naturally. It was too upsetting.
My OB inserted 4 tablets vaginally and sent me home.
The cramps started like menstrual cramps and got worse within a few hours.
I had heavy bleeding and passed blood clots the size of my hand for about 12 hours. The baby was easy to recognize and we were able to bury him/her in our yard. That was the hardest part.
I had a heating pad on and took 800mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours. But I wish my OB had given me something stronger as I couldn't sleep or get comfortable.
After about 12 hours the cramps faded back into AF type cramps and I had a med flow of bleeding.
I went for a repeat ultrasound the following Friday to see if I passed everything. Unfortunately I had some tissue stuck in my cervix that my OB had to manually remove. That really hurt. Then another dose of misoprostol vaginally.
I stopped bleeding 2 weeks later. My hpt test turned negative about 3 weeks after the loss.
In all, the experience wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have heard the side effects can be worse if you take the pills by mouth.
I'll be thinking of you. It's a horrible situation. I'm so sorry.

I have not taken the pills personally but I went through a natural mc (incomplete) last week. The pain was horrendous - full contractions which were the weirdest thing I've ever experienced. The amount of blood loss made me weak and faint. Palm size clots were the norm for a few days. I also was able to recognize the tissue and looked at the baby up close. It was traumatic. I'm having my d&c today and next time I will go straight for that. But if pills are your only option, jusr be prepared for the amount of pain. Rest and relax and put yourself on bed rest. Get a heating blanket or pad and leave it on 24/7. Take care of yourself and take some ibuprofen.

I hope it is quick for you. <3

Thanks for sharing your experiences ladies. I'm sorry for your losses. I inserted the pills vaginally as instructed 3 hours ago. Within a half hour I had some awful cramps. They only lasted about 20 minutes and then went away. It's just a waiting game now. I have 800mg ibuprofen and Vicodin if the pain comes back and gets worse.

My heating pad and super sized maxi pads were my best friends for a few days.
I hope you're doing ok.

Thanks love4you. I still have cramps and now I have back pain too BUT I havent had hardly any bleeding. None on my pad and just a bit more than a normal looking period when wiping. I'm really hoping something happens tonight. I didn't think it would take so long for things to start.

Fingers crossed for you that it speeds up. Make sure you're comfortable. When I had my mc There was more blood than I could have imagined. At one point I projectile bled. No joke. Bodies are weird. So just be comfortable. Keep your meds near by. Heating pad and water. Drink lots of water with all the blood loss <3

Thanks for all the support. Yesterday's dose was unsuccessful. Going for round two today.
