What to put baby in when...

they outgrow their moses basket?

I have a four week old boy who is rapidly growing and I am pretty sure he will soon be too big for his moses basket.

He will then have a cot upstairs in with us in our bedroom on the top floor (we have a three storey house), but I need to find something to put him in during the day on the ground floor so he can nap and is safe when I have to get other things done etc.

I was thinking of getting a travel cot but be grateful for any other suggestions. Has anyone got the Stokke bounce n' sleep as that might be an option but not sure if it will be big enough?

Someone else suggested this wooden thingy that had different levels for sleeping and could also be used as a play pen, anyone know what that might be?

Anyway be grateful to hear of your experience if you've maintained a place for sleeping downstairs for your little one and would love some recommendations.

my lo sleeps in his cot in his room during the day, i just have the monitor on. he is still in with us at night in his moses basket but don't think he will be in that for much longer! he does have a travel cot downstairs so he has somewhere safe if i need to leave the room as we have a puppy...!

When both our kids outgrew their baskets, we put them in their cribs in their rooms for daytime naps and for their sleep at night. We had the monitor on as well so we could keep an eye on them.

when my lo grew out of his mosas basket he went in his cot in his room he was 11 weeks.

Thanks for the replies so far. I don't really want to put him up in his cot during the day as it's up two flights of stairs and I don't want to spend all day going up and down especially as the stairs are steep and I worry about falling whilst carrying him, and also really want him near me for as long as possible. Guess the travel cot is probably my best option for now.

I'm currently 29 weeks preg and ordered the Fisher-Price Smart Stage 3-in-1 and thinking once Peanut is growing out of the moses basket they can go in the swing/rocker mode of the product?

Thinking cot is going to just be for nights! Plus going up and down ect when they are crying or going to sleep I think it'll just get tiring.. Least the Swinger would be in the Living Room where I'll be for most of the days
