Music is such an important part of my life, I really couldnt be without it, I have Spotify on most of the time.

So what do you like? What genres? Which bands? Fave tracks? Do you like live music? Festivals?

Tell me all about your musical loves


Me: My fave genres are classic rock, rock, some metal and prog rock I do like some well produced poop also, such as Abba.

Bloody hate RnB, commercial pop and hip hop/rap - having said that, I love NWA.

I dont like DnB except for Pendulum, who I love.

My fave bands/artists are: Fleetwood Mac, Marillion, Sia, Gary Moore, Pendragon, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Foreigner, early pre 1987 U2, Iron Maiden, Metallica, early Genesis, Magnum, Joe Bonamassa and loads more.

I love a decent bit of guitar and some good drums.

Live music - wow, we go to so many gigs and festivals, luckily the prog bands we like tend to be pretty cheap tickets. But we do fly to see bands too, last year we had a week in Canada seeing Marillion for a 3 days gig they did, also did the same show in Holland. and we've just booked up for Holland and Canada for next years Marillion convention.

I'm suprised that no-ones replied to this! Music is a huge part of my life too!

I love so many kinds of music so where to start?

I was raised listening to Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Europe and Bon Jovi (seen the first three live this year and it blew my mind!).
I'm also heavily into punk, infact I have a mohawk I love the 'pop' punk like Blondie, The Jam and The Clash as well as The Damned (saw them live this year too), Vice Squad, The Distillers and more, I love angry songs!
I am also in love with psychobilly like The HorrorPops, Tiger Army and Bella Morte, as well as 50s rockabilly, prog rock and 'modern' metal.
I'm only 18 but I'm the kind of woman who complains about how rap and such sounds like noise and has no meaning to me.

My OH likes his 'modern' metal like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine and bands like that, that I can't stand personally. But we share a love for T-Rex, Sweet and glam bands.

i was raised on my dad's music which is everything from david bowie to fleetwood mac, simply red, genesis, led zepplin... everything! now he borrows my cds instead of the other way around! im a big rock/punk/metal fan, but i can listen to pretty much anything except rnb, rap, jazz, techno. LOVE seasick steve! main bands/artists wud be david bowie, adema, rammstein, social distortion, tiger army, bouncing souls, ramones, misfits, ac/dc, led zep, but i also love mika, MGMT, Mad Capsule Markets, Bob Marley... Elvis/Beatles! (Don't ask me to choose!) I love live music, going to see the Cancer Bats in November and saw Tim Robbins last month. Don't get to go to festivals now as I have a lo, but once she's like 3/4 we will be going and taking her along for the ride! Shame festivals here don't cater for families very well, unlike the US which is AMAZING in that respect!

I really open minded when it comes to music, it's a big part of all our lives...
My Dad brought me up listening to Led Zep, Rainbow, Beatles etc etc and my Mum brought me up with Michael Ball, all the musical numbers, Robson and Jermone (LOL), Baycity rollers etc so very different music tastes from Mum & Dad (they arent seperated btw, happily married household just very different tastes!)

I love anything ranging from heavy metal, soft rock, classic rock, screamo, punk, pop punk, jazz, rnb, blues, pop, easy listenings, musicals...
the only music I can't get into is country, but saying that I like some of Taylor Swifts stuff so I guess pop country is okay with me


My fave bands AT THE MOMENT (lol) are Avenged sevonfold, Saves the day, Finch, Iron and wine, Alkaline Trio, New found glory.
Also loving Josh Radin, Cher Baker, Laura Marling, Michael Buble, Lady GaGa, Sky sailing, Lambchop, Eminem, Paramore, Boyce Avenue and The Like.

Fave tracks at the moment are; airplanes by hayley williams,B.O.B &Eminem, Love the way you lie by Eminem and Rihanna, What it is to burn by finch, Bloody romance by Senses Fail, My funny valentine by Chet Baker, Afterlife by Avenged Sevonfold and A bad dream by Keane.

Nuke have never met anyone else that likes rammstein lol, got into them when I was younger after my ex bil played them to me.

Am a Big Fan of the original line up of Guns N'Roses, saw them in munich, one word, AMAZING. Love The Doors! My 2 year old loves them too, her love started in the womb lol. Don't like rap or r&b, though would listen to almost anything.

Certain songs have certain memories associated with them and always will, GN'Rs Sweet Child O Mine, while not actually one of my favourites will always be associated with my daugher as it was on the radio when she was born, Bob Marley's Dont worry was on when wiggles was born and very appropriate considering.
I was brought up with my brother listening to punk so it also have a place in my life and memories.

I'm more openminded now than when in my teens. I was and still am into nirvana, pearl jam, smashing pumpkins, papa roach etc.......... now my music has widened. I love love love Muse and Placebo - my fave bands! Close second is Stereophonics.

My lo loves Jack Johnson and Newton Fawlkner - I like them too but cant listen to the whole album at any one time lol!!!

Manu Chau, Morcheeba, Air, Them Crooked Vultures, The Black Keys, the Hives....... I'm sure more will come up but I'm tired so gonna give up!

I love music. I am not one to have a favourite! If I like a song I like it no matter who sings it. I have albums from JLS, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé, Sean Paul, Jay sean and Gyptian to name a few lol.

Songs right now are Gyptian Hold you and Nelly Just a dream! But they change so often!

Musis is a big part of my life too!! I grew up loving boy bands and pop and RnB but around my early 20s I really 'discovered' music and let it in rather than just being 'fed' it if you know what I mean!

Nowadays I do love rock - bands that spring to mind are The Mars Volta, System of a Down (my FAV!), Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stoneage, Rage Against the Machine, anything with Jack White in it , Muse, Seasick Steve, Foo Fighters, Morrisey, FLorence and the Machine, Metallica, Mumford & Sons, Deftones, LOADS really!! Hehe.

Although my heart is in rock, I'm not a music snob, I wouldn't feel guilty or embarrassed if I liked a Britney Spears song for instance!! Although I doubt that will happen! I just think music is there to be enjoyed in whatever form it's in and if you like it you like it, I think it's something that's beyond your control in a way!

Love Muse, Biffy Clyro, Queens of Stoneage, Foos, been to see them live a couple of times, they are the best live band ever!. Also seem Maccabbes live, friendly fires, bloc party, Morrissey, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Css, more recently we are scientists, saw them perform in a nightclub of all places lol. also saw Electric 6 perform in a nightclub, the accoustics at the intimate gigs are astounding Also like music from the past, Guns n Roses, Nirvana, Soundgarden, REM (my only stadium gig!), Blondie, etc. I cannot stand Rnb or rap music, or any 'top 40' stuff that sounds the same, Lady Gaga is the only current chart music I can seem to recall lol and thats ok.
