what washing powder will you use?

with dd i used fairy washing powder and used a different brand for us but this time round money is a bit more tighter so will daz or surf be ok? what is everyone else using?

To start with I've bought Surcare for lo's washing and I'll use that in the beginning. It doesn't smell of anything but if you use it with the Comfort Pure you get that nice baby smell. It's not expensive and is free from perfume and dyes. After a few months I'll just put lo's things in with ours. xx

thanks iv never heard of it before ill have a look around, i actually already use comfort pure well normally what ever is on offer

It's in most supermarkets so you shouldn't struggle to find it, only thing is it seems to just come in a standard size, you don't get any big boxes. xxx

I have persil non bio for now but tbh I have smelt the asda non bio and it smells lovely and isnt v.expensive so I may get this when my persil box runs out.

xx

I have eczema and sensitive skin, so I use Fairy non-bio.
I will be using this for all of baby's stuff too once she arrives :flower:

Fairy as i have sensitive skin as it is, and since getting pregnant its reacting to everything else....

i went to makro and stocked up in jan..... still only half way through the 1st 5ltr bottle, with another one plus a 120 box of powder to get through plus the liquigel i bought on top of it, so plenty for when LO is here and i'll re-stock when they next have an unbeatable bargin

love the smell of fairy.... i also use their fabric softener, which i have in 5ltr bottles as well, down to a 5er each i love makro

We just switched from Daz to Fairy as we thought we may as well all use the same brand (had been washing baby's stuff in Fairy whilst we used Daz). Only problem is Fairy is so much more expensive than Daz...almost £3 dearer a box! Might look for an alternative for when we need a new box.

I use the asda non bio it's £3, does 28 washes and smells lovely :) xx

fairy is often on offer, its on offer atm in sainsburys

Own brand (from anywhere) non-bio. I can't use bio myself so wash all our clothes with the same gel and keep a cheap box of bio in the cupboard for curtains, etc, that lasts forever.

I'll be using persil non-bio. I've always used it and found it to be very good on my sensitive skin. It comes on offer regularly, so I'm able to afford it thankfully although when I run out completely Asda non-bio is just as good and actually smells nicer (as someone else mentioned). I would go with Fairy, but unfortunately I react badly to it for some reason (weirdo). xx

im allergic to ariel i find lots of people are. thanks everyone for your answers unfortunalty i dont have an asda near me or one that will deliever so cant get any from there, to be honest i prefer the idea of using fairy but someone mentioned own brand did you use this when your children was babys i mean does it even matter what you use? as long as its non bio or can it cause problems to there skin? last time with dd i used every expensive highly recommened items for everything but i didnt see the point cause some own brand are just as good and this time round i seem to have turned into a bargain hunter and getting as much cheap as possible i especially love ebay right now lol

To be honest hun, I reckon its trial and error- I find a lot of the own brand things are equal if not better than the brand names- but you have to try them and see if you like them really. I struggle to afford anything that isn't a supermarket own- but Its all good stuff!! There is a school of thought that says if you treat a babies skin as sensitive, it will become more sensitive in later life- I'm not sure how much I agree with that, but as I said- I will be going with persil/asdas own for my LO and I'm sure he won't mind one bit. :)

I know lots of people recommend Fairy non-bio but I have no idea what makes it so special over other non-bios apart from having a picture of a baby on the box and costing at least twice as much lol.

Also, a lot of own brands are exactly the same as the big brand names - made in the same factories using the same ingredients by the same people. You are just paying for the name on the packaging it is put in. We have had so many cases at work about this (I work in a law firm).

I use tescos own non bio liquid tablets and then use comfort fabric conditioner, hoping these r gona be ok for bubs cos I love the smell!x

well i have to admit i am a tescos savers food shopper think nearly everything i buy is but because you hear so much about what you should and shouldnt have for your baby its hard not to be brain washed so ill just carry on with the non bio washing powder of what ever is on offer then lol thanks everyone.
any idea what baby wipes? :haha:
