Whats the earliest you can get a bfp/weeks pregnant?

Hi so I dont know if this is the right section but I was wondering if someone could help me please.

I had my last month on my birthday august 20th now since sunday I have been bleeding its gradually got worse and ive had pain as well and I lost clots last night too.

So monday i went the doctors and I was referred to the EPU today and I had a scan bad news.

The sac measures 6 weeks and there is no HB they said the sac measures 3mm which is a 6 week baby and that I should go back for a scan next friday but they are not hopeful and said i will most probably pass the baby naturally.

So anyway I am wondering is there absolute possibility i got my dates wrong?? my last period was 6th july and i got my bfp august 20th. Now is it possible i could of concieved days before my period was due in august and thats how i got my positive?

I'm really clutching at straws but I was wondering if someone could help me. I tested everyday from 6th- 20th august and i got my bfp on 20th august.

I'm sorry its on the pregnancy forum but i was hoping i could get more help with it because of ovulating etc,

hmm i read about 2 weeks after conception but there are alot of tests that can test way earlier now.but i seen alot of girls on here get a positive as early as 8/9 dpo

Thanks for your reply! I'm clutching at straws that my dates are wrong but if my date from my scan today is correct I would of got a positive at 10 days pregnant, is that possible?

i have no clue..those ladys that have the digital plus conception thing..have gotten 1-2 weeks pregnant..so i guess its possible... with my son they told me i wasnt pregnant so my first scan i was about 5 months pregnant.. but they thought i wasnt that far along until they confirmed my story with a scan.

Most people will start to get faint positives at about 10dpo. But your pregnancy is dated normally from your LMP (last menstrual period) so add 14 days (for a typical cycle) onto that and you would be 3w+4 by the time you got a positive. If that was on August 20th you would be 8 weeks now. I would say this is probably the earliest dates wise.

But lots of people do get an early scan where the measurements dont quite match their dates but by the next scan things have caught up. I hope this is the case for you

I am sorry!!! If your LMP was on July 5th, you would now be 11 weeks. So lets just say you ovulated really late, you would still be at the least like 9 or 10 weeks. And you said you are measuring 6 weeks?? I am really sorry, it seems like something could be wrong. But I am not a doctor, and I would not worry too much until you get your next scan. Again, I am sorry you are dealing with this. Hugs!

If you got your BFP on the 20th and that was 10 dpo as the others have mentioned, that would put your conception date at around the 10th of August, which would make you exactly 6 wks today.

Did they see a fetal pole or anything that was "baby like" in there or just a sac? Monday you would have been 5 wks + 5 days. Especially if you tested from the 6th to the 20th.

Are your cycles usually 6 wks long? because 6 july to 20 august would mean a 6 wk cycle. It is possible you ovulated really late.

Was your first BFP light or dark?

It is also possible that you have a blighted ovum in which case the baby never formed, just a sac, or it was absorbed before it was formed.. Since you are bleeding this may be the case.

I hope you get some answers soon and I am sorry if it turns out to be a m/c for you.. so sad..

Another question, did you chart your temps or use OPK's or have any indicator during that cycle of when you might have ovulated? that would make a huge difference!

Sorry for snipping the rest of your reply but just wanted to say that this would not make her 6 weeks today. You are forgetting the 2 weeks that are 'added on' - so even though technically she would only have been pregnant for 6 weeks the doctors would class this as 8 weeks and this is what the baby should be measuring. There is no such thing as actually being 1 or 2 weeks pregnant because the way the doctors count pregnancy you are actually 2 weeks pregnant before the egg even releases

For example at my first scan I was measuring spot on for my dates at 8w+4, but my conception was only 6w+4 days ago...

I am confused as to where 8 weeks are coming from?? According to her LMP she is 11 weeks. Her LMP was July 5?? Unless I read that wrong, so she would infact be 11 weeks, not 8. Unless I am just too tired, and am having major reading comprehension problems?

Thanks for all your replies I guess I have got no hope I just have to wait and see until my next scan which is next friday.

amommy - I'm not sure about my cycles to be honest I would say they were every 4 weeks sometimes im a week late most since I had my son I saw to be honest.

My bfp was very light ... I will put a photo up asap of it

They just said that the baby measures 3mm which is a 6 week or 6+ week baby with no HB she asked about my dates and I said that my lmp was the 6th of july and she said its not looking good but because the baby measures 3mm they have to re scan but they were not holding out any hope because it looks like a failed pregnancy.

I was really hoping that I had conceieved late and maybe my dates were out and clutching at straws lol but i know deep down I have had a miscarriage I was just hoping and they also said I should pass the baby naturally.

Sorry last thing amommy I did not chart or use temps etc when in my cycle sorry but thank you.

I also put myself as 7+4 as of yesterday because I wasnt sure of my dates so I just went off the clearblue conception just as a rough guide until my scan

Awww hunnie... so sorry to hear what you are going through.... When i got scanned for my last MC, i got told that it would of been wayyyy to early to detect a heartbeat and this normally is picked up around 6-7+weeks. (i was only 5 LMP or 3weeks ovulation).

Doctors always add 2 weeks on, so when you go for a scan typically it can be 2 weeks out either way. If your cycles arent spot on every month, then it could be possible that your body tried to ovulate, and then retried alot later in your cycle on which you may of concieved and therefore making you only 6 weeks. So your scan could be accurate, and mebies its just too early to detect a heartbeat right now??

I dont wish to give you false hope or anything, but this is just my oppinion... I wish you all the best and you get some good news out of this x

Thanks Babee but I am not so hopeful now as I got my bfp on the 20th august that was nearly 5 weeks ago .. arghh !! I hate going through this so much I am in agony with my stomach but I just wanted a tiny little bit of hope hoping I had conceived late but I have also read that when scans are so early on they arent always accurate on dates so it could be 6-7 weeks and she said it was either a week sac or 6+ weeks they told me that much I wish I had it written down to remember xx

awww hunnie,,. well the tests up put up are very faint on the 20th so i would say when you tested on the 20th you could of been around 8-9DPO.... so if this is correct of course, ive worked out that you could of ovulated on 11th of August, making you exactly 6 weeks today. That is only the sort of the possible thing i can think of for you x x

I know this is the pregnancy test section but I just wanted thank you for all your replies. What little bit of hope I had has gone now I have passed the baby naturally and I have got to go for a scan on tuesday instead of friday I managed bring it forward. xx thank you so much xx
