We have our 12 week scan in 2 weeks and 3 day's (not that I'm counting) and we really want to buy something, I don't want to get anything big and I don't know what nappies/bottles or anything I want to use so I don't know what to buy!!

What's the first thing you will buy and when???Xxxxxx

I have no idea honey, this being my first I havent a clue! I'll probably get the pram in the xmas sales I think! xxx

ps. Squee for your 12 week scan! Its flown by yay!

I've bought some nappies as there were on a mega offer at asda. But first mega purchase will be the pram - we are gonna buy that before vat rise in January !!!!

to be honest we didnt bother til after 20 weeks, not cause we felt we'd inx owt cause we couldnt be bothered, we wanted to spread it all out so it was more exciting rather than doing it all really soon then just sitting and waiting.

i cant wait to act on this pregnancy, but to me since its my seond i know its just too early to prepare yet.

wait till boxing day sales if its anything like in new zealand youl get some amazing discounts on cots etc.both my mum and i started buying a pack of nappies or two every week at 12 weeks and by the time my son was born i didnt have to buy any for 5 months

Are any of you going to buy a changing station? My mum said today they're a waste of time but I dont know!

I wouldn't bother with a changing station. Changing mat or towel on the floor is what I do, no chance of them rolling off the edge!

I will probably buy a gorgeous white sleepsuit after the 12 week scan, in newborn size for my hospital bag.

I am going to buy socks. Cant beat a little pack of newborn baby socks. I have lots of stuff left over from DD so havnt got anything 'exciting' to buy. Just need bottles, bibs, vests etc.

I have got a changing station and I loved it. It saved your back and was a handy place to keep all the nappies etc on. Also it was easy to bath DD although we probably wont use the bath as much next time as we will stick bubs in with DD.

I'm going to buy these: :haha:

(Quick background info: DH is English and I'm American, and the baby was conceived whilst we were visiting DH's parents in England )

You ladies have some powerful willpower! I only just found out I'm PG and already I'm wanting to buy some little things, just to make it feel more real. I thought about buying a little outfit right away, but OH is afraid I'll jinx us, so we're waiting a bit.

Are any of you going to buy a changing station? My mum said today they're a waste of time but I dont know!

they are a waste of money really when you can get a change mat and lay it on the floor with a change box... or if its upstairs then lay the change mat on the bed and change the baby like that

ummm we havent thought about it really i got a few free teddys and i brought a nice cuddly from mama and papas.... but i think im going to save my money up for towards the time when i feel like i want to buy something.... ie saved up money so far and tomorrow im going to put about £10er in the savings so then by the time i have my £20 scan i can buy stuff with my money and Andy can buy the pram with his money

Cool babygrows Ladyofrowan! I love those :D

I am not going to be buying till prob nearer 20 weeks also dh don't want to either or will let me as he feels may jinx things, no harm looking though :D

I am a bit naughty...I like shopping for other people at the best of times, let alone a tiny person I am growing! I bought socks at 9 weeks...they were the Lamaze foot finder ones and I loved them when I saw them.
I got my cot ordered after scan at 12 weeks. Buggy arrived 4 days ago, cot mattress arrived yesterday, ordered the nicest Mamas and Papas quilt, pillowcase and cot tidy (hasnt arrived yet)
Have already got the baby changing unit being made (husbands friend is amazing with wood designs) I have pretty much kitted out the nursery...husband may possibly get a teeenie bit cross if he checks internet banking any time soon.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a changing station. A chest of drawers works just as well for keeping nappies, etc in. LO will be rolling before you know it and so you get such a short amount of time using the changing station.

I really don't know what we'll buy first. We have a 15 month old so we already have pretty much everything we're going to need. The only big thing I think we'll need is a toddler bed for Harvey so that LO can get the cot.

My DH and I are going to talk to his grandpa about making the crib, dresser and rocking chair. He is an awesome carpenter. If he cant then maybe we could do a lay-away thing and make payments. As much as I want to buy things I love browsing baby stuff. Funny, part of me (well most) is like WAIT until you find out the sex! lol I also don't want "normal" baby clothes. I like wild things and different clothes...lol

I think we might just buy some sleepsuits and socks.xxx
