& Humpty Dumpty. He sit on my lap on the floor, then we fall while singing. He always giggles when we fall down on the floor :)

My LO never tires of old Macdonald, row row row, twinkle and baa baa black sheep. I prefer singing wind the bobbin in and Mary Mary quite contrary. I hate singing old macdonald, it gives me a sore throat! xx

Wind the Bobbin up, she loves doing the actions!

Twinkle twinkle, baa baa, tow your boat, five little monkeys, old McDonald (except we sing "little Arthur had a farm" and then "little violet had a farm". Jchi, just remind me if the lyrics to five little ducks . . . Will you please? :flower:

What are the lyrics to wind the bobbin up? Lo always comes home from nursery but he only knows the wind the bobbin up so only sings that and id like to do it with him

Wind your bobbin up (x2)
Pull, pull, clap, clap, clap
Wind your bobbin up (x2)
Pull, pull, clap, clap, clap
Point to the ceiling, point to the floor
Point to the window, point to the door
Clap your hands together, one two three
Put your hands upon your knee

Wind it back again (x2)
Pull, pull, clap, clap, clap
Wind it back again (x2)
Pull, pull, clap, clap, clap
Point to the ceiling, point to the floor
Point to the window, point to the door
Clap your hands together, one two three
Put your hands upon your knee

Although, I think people have variations to lots of nursery rhymes really. I know I sing 5 little monkeys differently to my friend.

Jchi, just remind me if the lyrics to five little ducks . . . Will you please? :flower:

Five little ducks
Went swimming one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only four little ducks came back.

Four little ducks
Went swimming one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only three little ducks came back.

Three little ducks
Went swimming one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only two little ducks came back.

Two little ducks
Went swimming one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only one little duck came back.

One little duck
Went swimming one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But none of the five little ducks came back.

Sad mother duck
Went swimming one day
Over the hill and far away
The sad mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back.

Megan likes hickory dickory dock ( our fingers run up and down the clock) and then hold up fingers for clock struck 1,2,3, etc

Wheels on the bus
Twinkle twinkle
Trot to to ..... ( town where you live), trot trot to lyn, be careful of the bridges so you don't fall in! ( she trots on my legs while I sit on the couch or floor and have her "fall" in between legs at the end.

3 brown bears... ( instead of 3 blind mice) with actions

Head shoulders knees and toes

Itsy bitsy spider and great big grandpa spider

I'm a little teacup

She also likes some church songs like he's got the whole world in his hands ( she cups her hands), kumbaya ( someones laughing, crying, praying and she does those actions), this little light of mine with actions

Cormac's favorite is Patty Cake. He seems to love that one, always asking me to do it. That and Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Rowan has just come home from her new nursery singing

Twinkle, twinkle, chocolate bar
Daddy drives a rusty car
Start the engine, pull the choke
Off he goes in a cloud of smoke
Twinkle, twinkle, chocolate bar
Daddy drives a rusty car

I do most of the ones already mentioned (I LOVE nursery rhymes and action songs ) but also ..

Dingle Dangle Scarecrow (the only way to dry him after a bath LOL)

I'm a dingle, dangle scarecrow
With a flippy floppy hat (wobble head around)
I can shake my arms like this (shake arms while making 'wibbly' noise)
I can shake my legs like that (lay on back and kick legs while making 'wibbly' noise)

and (a knee jogging rhyme)

To market, to market,
to buy a fat pig
Home again, home again,
Jiggetty Jig

To market, to market
to buy a fat hog
Home again, home again
joggetty jog

and (another knee jogger)

A farmer went trotting upon his grey mare
Bumpety, Bumpety, Bump
His daughter behind him so rosy and fair
Lumpety, Lumpety, Lump
A raven went CROAAAK (loud)
and they all tumbled down (drop LO between your knees)
Bumpety, Bumpety, Bump
The mare broke her knees (pat knees)
And the Farmer his crown (pat head)
Lumpety, Lumpety, Lump

There are plenty of nursery rhyme books around, and plenty of CDs too - try the Early Learning Centre for cheap ones. The best nursery rhyme compendium I know is called 'Lavender's Blue', compiled by Kathleen Lines, but it's massive, so you may need to ask for a grandparental whip-round to buy it for a present. I recommend getting a book and a CD, because you can't learn the tunes from a book, but the CDs never seem to include more than one verse of the words.

Incidentally, the rest of the words to the scarecrow song go

When all the cows were sleeping and the sun had gone to bed,
Up jumped the scarecrow, and this is what he said:
I'm a dingle-dangle scarecrow with a flippy-floppy hat,
I can shake my hands like this, I can shake my feet like that!

When all the hens were roosting and the moon behind a cloud,
Up jumped the scarecrow, and shouted very loud:
I'm a dingle-dangle scarecrow...

When the dogs were in their kennels and the doves were in the loft,
Up jumped the scarecrow and whispered very soft:
I'm a dingle-dangle scarecrow...

Kian's fave is also Row Row your boat we have about 3 verses to it now..

Row Row Row your boat gently down the stream
Merrilly Merrily Merrily Merrily
Life is but a dream

Row Row Row your boat gently down the river
If you see a snowman
Dont forget to shiverrr, brrrrr!

Row Row Row your boat gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile , dont forget to scream. AHHHH!

He also likes
-Zoom Zoom Zoom were going to the moon
-Drive Drive Drive your car
-Twinkle Twinkle little star
-Down at the station
-5 Little Men in a flying saucer
xx
