I really like it as it is fairly unusual (I haven't met that many Paulas) but it is not too off the wall.

I don't really know why I chose Poppy as my user name - probably because some of my friends call me Polly and Poppy is kind of similar. When I first signed up on B and B, I didn't want my friends to know I was trying for a baby (the pressure and stuff - you know what it's like) and I knew that some of my friends were pregnant or had kids and went on parenting forums.

I'm Brittany Marie. It's kinda funny...to this day my family still fight over who I was named after. My mom says my middle name comes from her grandmother and my dad used to say my middle name is Marie because of a woman that lived next door to him when he was growing up. She was like a second mom to him and he used to ride her around on his motorcycle all the time. He told her that one day if he ever had a little girl, he was going to name her after her...and he did. Not sure where Brittany came from though.

My name is Kiri Meika. I only go by my first name, not my middle name. I was meant to be called Laura, but apparently I just wasn't a Laura! I'm not really sure why I got the name Kiri. It's a Maori name (means skin/self) but I have no Maori blood - I'm the first person in my family born in New Zealand/Aotearoa! I think my parents had heard of Kiri Te Kanawa (the opera singer) and just liked the name. Meika is a variant spelling of Meike, which is a Dutch name (and Hebrew I believe) and means 'bitter'. Not a nice thing to call a child IMO, but maybe it's a good attribute in that culture, and it sounds lovely.

Username is amerikiw because i grew up in America, married a Kiwi and we now live in New Zealand. Bubs will have both passports, so he/she will be an amerikiwi!
