When are you going to start buying things?

Right now I am so tempted to go out and buy some bits and bobs for the baby but I don't want to till after my scan which won't be until im 14 weeks

We went into Mothercare yesterday and I wanted to buy so many really nice things for the baby. We have picked out a cot, a moses basket and a lovely swingy chair. I want to go out and buy it now lol!

So when are you all going to start buying things or when did you start?

I think we will start buying a getting things from my sis who has a crib and other stuff...after we get past 12 weeks. feels like forever

I'll only be 6 weeks tomorrow and I already bought a bag of diapers and 3 sleepers. I still have a lot from when I had my son, so I know I won't have to buy too much

It does feel like forever doesn't it, I am just over 12 weeks but now I have to wait another 2 weeks!

I'm planning on buying things after the 12 week mark but only unisex things like nappies we are getting a gender scan in the 16th week and after that there will be no holding bk!! lol

like you i want to wait for my scan first.... I haven't even got a date through yet

i'm not buying anything new but bottles in the last 2 wks of pregnancy :0) i have everything as my dolly is only 3 months old now :0) lucky me :0) unlucky little bean if its a 'he' pink sleepsuits wnt be worn out the bedroom LOL x

I'm not buying anything until bubs is born except for a couple of babygrows etc for the labour bag. May sound a bit silly and harsh but I've had 3 miscarriages with the als tone being 13w6d so I'm not taking any chances as I could lose this one at any point.

I might change my mind if I'm further along into the 2nd trimester but for now I'm not wanting any baby stuff in the house.

Aww, don't worry, im sure you will get a date very soon now. I was 11 week and 2 or 3 days when I got my letter. I am raging that I have to wait till im 14 weeks though, hopefully you'll get yours a lot sooner

Im only 5 weeks 2 days and we have already gone looking at prams! i wont buy anything until we have had our scan and i know little babs is ok. then i will go nuts on shopping!!!!

I have a firm rule not to buy stuff until after the 20 week mark. I was the same with my daughter. My task until then is to clear stuff out and have a move around so everything will have a place when we do get it xx

We won't be buying anything until we've had our 12 week scan. I had a mc at 12+3 so will deifnately be waiting until we know everythings ok!

I'm not as patient as that. I've been buying the odd thing (babygrows on sale, muslins etc) since about a year before we started ttc. We'll wait to get the pram till about 20 weeks and will probably buy most clothes just before or even after they are born. It's the first grandchild on both sides so I'm expecting a lot of stuff from the proud grandparents. Shame really, as I love baby clothes shopping. We have however bought nursery furniture. I came across a really nice second hand set on ebay and it was just too good an offer to pass up. So, as you can see, not much restraint here... And I'm expecting that to get a lot worse after our 12 weeks scan next week.

I am dying to buy, buy, buy! But I am trying to wait till we know the gender. I have boxes and boxes of stuff from my son in my in-law's basement that I want to get my hands on, but they do not know yet, and I think they might think it is weird that I am taking all the boxes out after them sitting there for over a year now.

Like a lot of you, I won't be buying until I hit the 12 weeks mark. I'm just concentrating on getting to that point. It's been 7 years since I've been pregnant, and I've since gotten rid of EVERYTHING, so I have to start over. It's like having my first all over again. Pretty excited.

I have brought one set of baby grows that I fell in love with. But I want to wait until after the 12 week scan for other stuff. I have a doppler so I keep using that to check that bubba is ok, but I just want to wait until after my scan. Then im going on a huge spree!
I won't find out when my scan is until after My midwife appointment on Monday, I just hope it isn't too long to wait, as I am desperate to buy buy buy!!

I don't think DH & I will buy much until we know the gender. However, after our 12 scan I will go out & get this one girl outfit I saw. I don't think it'll be there in 2 months so I'm going to get it & hope we have a girl.

not buying anything until 20 weeks, not that i dont want to but we are going on holiday so all our money is going to that at the moment, i am going to borrow a lot of things from my friend whos baby will be one when mine is born such as her car seat her bassinate etc..

It's driving me insane not buying anything, but dh says we need to wait until we know the gender. He doesn't want the baby to mistaken, if we get unisex things. But I think we can get at leas t a pack of diapers and unisex works for bibs, socks, and burp rags..lol. We are going to get a private gender scan at 16 wks, so I guess I can hold off. Only 4-41/2 weeks. This is going to take for ever!!!
