I told my mum 1 week after I found out at 8 weeks.
I couldn't tell her straight away as she was away at a camp with her Guides but I would have if I could.
I never even 'told' her tbh, she asked how my GP appointment was and I just burst into tears - she kinda guessed from that!
I didn't. She found out through friends and arrived at my house the day after Christmas with gifts it's a long story, I won't go into it but I'd rather she didn't know.
My mother was the first person I told.
It would of been my OH first, but when I done the test he was on the way down to my house and I just had to tell someone! I thought I was seeing something!
My mum was very supportive, and the reaction I had off her at first was -
"Oh god! Im wayy to old for all this!"
I was like, mam, your 42! Its a good job it hapend now then, because your only gonna get older!
But I would deffinatly advise people to tell their parents, they will be shocked at first, but will always come round to it
