When did you/will you get your first ultrasound? I want mine at 6 weeks, but my appt.

I've had 3 now, one at 3, 4 and 5 wks. Because I am high risk. Hopefully on our next one I will see heartbeat. It will be at about 7 wks. Good luck to you!

I am wondering the same thing. My first ultrasound is next Wednesday, I will be 6 weeks 2 days. I'm really hoping to see a heartbeat. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

i am having one next week- 6 weeks. But i've also been seeing an RE which is why so early. With my regular OB it wouldn't be until 8 weeks.

I'm having an early scan on saturday. I.ll b anywhere between 6+3 and 7 weeks. Not sure how much i.ll see but hoping to detect heartbeat. I.ve had 2 m/c's so being given early scan for reassurance x

they scheduled me for a "dating ultrasound" on Monday and i'll be pretty much 6 weeks exactly. But they initially scheduled me for one at my 8 week mark, but when i told them my cycles had been irregular so i didnt really know when i should have had AF or when i ovulated she said i could come in for the earlier one

I didn't have my first until yesterday- a little over 8 weeks. It seems like forever away, but it'll come quick. I got to see and hear the heartbeat. It was the most wonderful thing ever. Good luck at your appointment!

I had my first scan at 6 weeks exactly...they were able to see both babies and we heard both heartbeats....they did mine as an internal so it'll depend on if they do it that way or a regular scan if they can see the heartbeat. You can't see as much when you are that early with a regular ultrasound

Still haven't heard mine and just came back from my dating scan *we don't do them here*, well where the hell do you go it then?!

Have heard it on the doppler though .

I had my first ultarsound at 8 weeks and 2 days and it was an internal. I had my second ultrasound at 12 weeks and 3 days and it was an abdominal. At first waiting until 8 weeks seemed like a long time but the time started to go faster after awhile. I'm glad I had one at 8 weeks instead of 6 because I got the reassurance when I was further along and I was able to easily see the babies head, legs, and body.

My doctor said I'll get my first ultrasound between 12 and 14 weeks. I go for a physical on June 21st and I'll be 13 weeks by then. So I bet I'll be 14 or 15 weeks by the time we finally get one!

Thanks. After reading posts, I think I'm going to wait til 8 or 9 weeks. Ugh. As I write that, I think--NO I WANT ONE NOW B/C I HAD CRAMPING LAST NIGHT. I don't know My doctor is supposed to call me back today or tomorrow, and so I'll ask.

So, from what I'm reading, it seems that it may be less stressful to wait until 8 weeks because they can see more? Is that correct?

I had mine at what i thought was 5+5 but when they measured little one it turned out i was 6+1!! He found my little bean straight away along with a really strong little heartbeat of 117bpm!! It was the most magical thing i have EVER experienced in my life and i cant wait for the next one!!

It is, it was an internal scan and the lady that did it was a whizz with the machine. The yolk sac is the big blob at the top and the baby is the smaller blob below it with the heartbeat being the bright white spot.
