When did your period return and tips to get it back?

13months and still no period. We are down to one bf in the day but he will feed at 7pm and then constantly from 1am to 6.30am....we co sleep.
We've been TTC from about 3minths and wernt in a rush but now we are itching to get pregnant as we want a small age gap.
When did you period return and any tips to get it back? I'm going to try stop the night feeding so we would only feed 6am, 2pm, 7pm do you think this would help?

I do think that will help. Mine came back at 8 months last time - she was feeding 4-5 times in the day and 1-2 times overnight.

I had a similar feeding pattern to you just before 12 months, a couple of feeds during the day, then co-sleeping from 11pm to morning. At 12 months we stopped getting her into our bed at 11pm and let her sleep through (weepy the first night, no issues the second night and slept through). 4 weeks later I ovulated and got pregnant without having AF between babies.

I breastfed my daughter for 13 months and my period finally came back when she was about 1, around the time she dropped to 1 feed per day, and also when I started taking the food supplement maca. I got pregnant with Ethan 3 months later.

Breastfeeding and Co-sleeping make you not have a period?? Im so confused! Ive never heard that before

Breastfeeding can stop you ovulating because of the hormones produced when breastfeeding. I'm not sure if/why co sleeping affects it, but maybe cos it's likely the child would still be having nightfeeds. The less feeds the child has, the more likely you'll start ovulating again. This isn't the case for all women though, some get their period back quite quickly whilst breastfeeding and it's totally possible to get pregnant whilst breastfeeding (I know of at least 3 people that have)

If your co-sleeping with LO having open access boobage all night long it adds up to a lot of suckling time which can create enough hormones to supress ovulation and menstruation. Each woman is differnt though, some can get their cycles back when still feeding pretty often, others have to stop completely.

Ohhhh! Thanks lol that makes sense I just wasnt sure since I also know a few people who got pregnant again while breastfeeding. And since we co sleep I was wondering how that worked. Got it!

I've been Breastfeeding and my period came back with a vengeance at 7 + 5 days! I was gutted as I thought i wouldn't have one for months. I Feed on demand and v occasional I'll give formula but literally 3 times a week just for quick fix to fill her up (couple oz after breastfeed)
