I know what "cycle day" you are supposed to take it but it's impossible for me to tell since I don't have periods. I haven't had one in 4 years now and before that from the time I started I only had one maybe two a year. Yes abnormal but I do have a perfectly healthy baby boy who is 2 years old and when I got pregnant with him I hadn't had a period for about a year.

I am ttc my second and have talked to my(and multiple) ob's and my fertility specialist but since I don't have periods which on paper is abnormal they are practically no help. They keep pointing me in the direction of ivf ... I don't know where to turn or what to do because clearly I can have children.

I have been on provera 4 times. I've been on estradiol. I've been on birth control. You name it I've done it. All blood tests are normal. All levels are normal. I just think my ovulation is all over the place so being put on clomid will let me know when I can test to see if I am ovulating at all.

A couple weeks ago I started taking ovulation tests daily to see if/when I ovulate. So far nothing but it's only been a couple of week.

Okay so basically long story short if you don't want to read all of that haha. I'm wondering when to take clomid without knowing your cycle days and other tips you have for a situation like mine. Thanks!

Hiya. Sorry to hear of your predicament. Have you tried posting in assisted? They might have experience of your situation...

I would not take clomid unless you are 100% sure of what cd you are on. It can over stimulate your ovaries and create problems if you 1. Don't take the correct dose and 2. Is not taken properly. If your specialist is no help then you should find a new one. It is important to find a dr who will listen to you bc you know your body better.

Have you done any tests such as a hsg to make sure your tubes aren't blocked or there's a problem elsewhere? Did the dr tell you why ivf without trying other options? My RE told us that ivf would be a great option for my dh and I, but said IUI is more cost effective and he's confident it'll work.

I agree with this. It doesn't sound like your doctor is being very proactive. If they have prescribed clomid with no direction I would find someone else. At the very least they should try to start your period with progesterone and then do the clomid.

Like I said they did try to start my period multiple times and I've seen multiple doctors. Apparently that's all they know to do try to start my period and when that doesn't work then go straight to IVF. I'm seeing my 3rd fertility specialist in addition to two OB's that I've already seen. It's so frustrating but I'm considering just giving up at this point is that's all they think they can do. Thank your though

Yes I've had an hsg. Everything is normal. And they have tried other options but like I said in the quote above since they couldn't start my period they just went to well that's all we can do sorry, and I've seen multiple doctors. All basically the same answer.
That is a good point though. I don't want to harm my body any more then it is. Thank you

If you are certain you are not pregnant or ovulating... I would suggest femara. It can be used without a new cycle to induce ovulation.

But you cannot be pregnant! It can cause birth defects.

I am certain. I poas once a week and just had a blood test today. Haven't heard of that, will definitely ask, thank you!

Letrozole is another name for femara. I think it's the name brand.

Good luck.
