I'd love to start doing some artsy stuff with LO but no chance for now because everything still goes straight into her mouth - for those with older LOs, do you remember when this stopped?

Stalking. My LO no longer puts everything directly into her mouth but most objects do get tasted at some point.

I heard 18 months. Hope not. I want the same as you OP. Everything goes in his mouth.

my 2.5 still does :dohh: it is a curiosity thingy for him. well only new stuff. like for example flowers are coming out now. so he wants to see how they taste or whatever. i tell him no dirty. all the things he has had in his mouth when he was 1-2 he doesnt bother on those.

OP - they do make nontoxic art supplies for babies. I let my LO use crayons and sometimes she'll get bored of coloring and put them in her mouth but it doesn't do her any harm.

Stalking too! I was actually googling this yesterday and some people were saying 2-3 years! I hope not!

I've been wondering this too. Ciara tries to eat everything - except most food!!

I too would love to do some crayons/paints with her but haven't yet for this reason.

Is it linked in any way to when their teeth are all through? Or just a developmental thing?

Eli is the exact same! Any little tiny thing he finds on the floor goes directly in his mouth, but when you put food on his tray it goes straight on the ground :dohh:

As far as paint, they have many edible paints you can make yourself.

Also, I just looked online and they sell edible crayons, they are called veggie crayons! Might have to order some, they are $11 for a pack of 5 :)

My 2.5 year still does. We're constantly telling him to take things out of his mouth.
