Does she know when she ovulated? If so, her period should come 14 days +- after that. The strongest tests can test up to 5 days before a missed period.

Is she doesn't know when she ovulated I would just take her longest cycle length and test once she's late for that.

If all else fails, go to the doc and ask for a blood test.
