I realize I'm early on this-

At what point in time do you start to be concerned about whether the baby is breach or not?

How do you tell when the baby is head up or head down?

I'm trying to distinguish between his feet or hands but I'm having a hard time figuring out which is which.

my lil guy has been head down the whole time, praying he doesn't turn :flower:

and i know because all the pressure I feel down in my hoo-ha and ultrasound :haha:

Baby has been head down for me since about 29 weeks - doctor felt around and told me or I would have never been able to distinquish either. I heard that they start getting concerned around 36 weeks but around 30 weeks if they're not turned to do the hands and knees pelvic exercise to get them to move.

"Typically" baby will turn head down sometime in your 3rd trimester... there is really always time before labor... most often baby will turn earlier in the 3rd tri, but turn till right up until labor! Ah, the joys of pregnancy. I believe there are some things you can do later on to help encourage baby though... maybe ask your doctor? I think one is where you get on all fours and sway back and forth. But long as baby has enough room to wriggle around well, they can always move.

My baby is still transverse- which is common for woman with placenta previa- and odds are she'll stay that way. So the pressure I feel is side to side... not always comfy when trying to sleep, but otherwise OK.

I really cannot tell which side is heads or tails? LOL. I think I know, but then at my next u/s she's opposite from what I thought ;) I can only tell where the hard lumps are, not exactly what they are.

Best of luck hun!

Mine is breech atm and can really tell the difference with her feet digging in my pubic bone and my left hip,can be painful at times, not too worried yet, but hope she turns soon.

I think the easiest way to tell is to determine where most of the kicks (movement) are happening. For me, I feel lots of movement around my right ribs, just at the top of my belly. I asked my mw to let me know where he is and she confirmed that his feet are right there at my ribs, which means his head is down. If you look on the "Spinning babies" website, you can get some good info there about movement and positioning!

at my 6 month check my lo was head down will i just had my 7 month check up and now he is breech. I knew something was funny because i kept getting these real sharp pains in my lower area. not to mention this big lump on my right side that i found out is his head. hopefully he turns the crazy thing is he looked pretty comfy with his legs crossed just relaxin.

At my 28 wk appt midwife said baby was breech but not to worry until 35/36 weeks because they often turn on their own. Well @ my 32 week appt yesterday baby is now head down but is back to back so she gave me some advice on how to get him/her to turn around x

I think my LO is breach, I just feel differently to last time

My LO is breech - I told midwife, she felt tummy and said no its not, then felt again and said yes, your right!

My first was breech throughout and it feels exactly the same.

They will not do anything til around 36wks they will send you for a scan to check position and then discuss how to proceed. They will normally suggest an ECV to turn baby first before going for an elective c-section.

There are things on spinningbabies site to try turn baby. Handstands, headstands, crawling - none of that worked last time, and doesnt seem to be this time either!

Turn, babies, turn!!!:flower:
