So I was wondering if I should get my fiance to drag my bags and things into the hospital when we frist arrive?

My idea was to wait and make sure I would be admitted and then have him retrieve them from the car afterward or maybe even after our daughter is born. Does this sould like a good idea? What is everyone else doing or have done in the past?

I plan on leaving my bag in the car until I am admitted. But I will probably want it before the baby arrives... Or at least my phone & charger. I suppose I really don't need the extra clothes until afterwords. I'm not planning on packing much (pair of pj pants, t-shirt, sweat shirt, hair brush, deodorant, phone & charger). The baby's diaper bag will probably sit in the car until after he arrives.

They'll be kicking me out of the hospital after 2 days, whether it is a c-section or vaginal birth. At least that is how my doctor put it (he was trying to sound funny).

I plan not to bring anything in until actually admitted. Don't see a point before then.

Thats funny, I was thinking this exact thing today, it'l look a little silly me someing in with suitcase and nappybady only to be turned away hahaha. Mums keeping going home suit and carseat ect at hers and she will come get them the day i leave the hosptial, she recons ill be in there 4days, yeah right, no thanks.

I hadn't thought about this at all!

I'll probably have my husband (or whoever is with me) grab the bag after I'm admitted. I only really plan on having a backpack. Nothing too heavy or anything.

I will have a small labour bag (rucksack) which will have magazines etc in and if all is ok and going ahead hubby can go and get our other bags-we will only have two small bags again hubby can bring anything else we need in. I don't plan on hanging around in hospital for too long, shower, tea, toast & home if I get my way lol.

I brought my (TWO) hospital bags AND car seat with me when I arrived. Mostly because we got a taxi to the hospital so couldn't leave them in the car...

This time I will bring both bags but leave the carseat in the car. Mostly because I don't really want OH to leave me while I'm in labour cus' knowing my luck he'll miss the birth or get lost!

slightly diffrent in the UK i would assume as we have to porvide the nappie and clothes for the baby to be dressed in, so perhaps ill take babys bag in with my (yummy mummy Bag) and grab my Nighty and pop that in there, then grab my bag when i go into the ward?

I'm going to have to take the bags in with me because we'll be more than likely getting a taxi. My husband will go home and get the car seat though because I can't imagine there'll be enough room for that too.

I will be taking my labour bag with me for everything i need for the birth then after the birth OH can get the rest, the parking is only a 2 min walk away

I will leave them in the car till i have been admitted then send DH out for them, dont want to drag them in only to be sent home.

I am not going to plan it because it would depend on how confident I was that I was going to be admitted: I mean, if I've had a bloody show, followed a few hours later by regular contractions every 4-5 minutes, and my water breaks as I am walking out the door, then I will go ahead and bring in my bag. If I am going in because I think I might be in labor, I will leave it in the car.

Yeh I'd leave the bag in the car until I was admitted, like the others said x

i don't plan on going in till as late as possible, so will take my bags in with me

i'll be taking

2 night shirts, 2 leggings, pads, pants, flippity floppitys, mini shower gel etc, sugar source, fan, bra, breast pads, charger, phone, change for parking, 3 vests, 2 sleepsuits, wool blanky and cardi my mama knit the baby, cloth wipes and nappies, lip balm, dummy, bottle and back up formula

i may pack make up if i feel like it, i rarely were the stuff normally, and as for hair straightener hahahahahaha i'lll be more fussed over my baby that how my hair looks...

Ive had my baby now but I think its best to leave it until you are in your room. We left ours in the car and I sent OH down to get the bags/ball once I was in my room.. you do do a bit of walking about so you dont want to lug your bags about especially if you were like me and in pain and needed your OH to help to walk. The only thing I would take is a drink and maybe a cereal bar in your handbag.

Also another tip once you've had baby and move to the ward, they hate having bags and clutter so pack a smaller bag that you can transfer the bits you need an your OH can take the bigger bags home with him

i will be taking them in with me as our midwife will come out and check im in labour providing everything goes to plan so wont be going into hospital untill im in labour and wont be coming home without my bubba x

I'm a bit panicy about my hubby leaving me so I think I'll take a smaller labour bag in with my labour stuff and a couple of baby bits in. Then I'll leave another bag and the car seat in the car for later.

Well because this is my 2nd I don't plan on going in until I no that the pain is that bad I need gas and air so il bring the bags in with me as Im hoping not to be sent home :) x
