Hi all !! :flower:
I am 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I was just wandering when should I have everything ready and put everything together ?
Only thing I have is bedding ,swing and bouncer ( after my friends baby )
I am starting to panic but my boyfriend still saying to calm dawn and saying he is going to take care of it and we have plenty of time ,but I starting to panic :D
I would like to know how far along u r and what u have bought and what do u have ready ? :baby:

Im 21 weeks and have everything but the cot. Its good to be prepared but Ive been buying since 5 weeks. Everyones different xx

hello! i'm 22wks and i don't have anything yet. i was waiting to see what was left to buy after the baby shower. but unfortunately this LO is coming early. doc is taking him at 32wks at the latest by c-section. we will be buying and setting up everything in the next week hopefully. i wanted to start buying everything as soon as i found out i was preggo tho lol

I have only ordered a pram but haven't bought anything else yet. Think will start buying around 30 weeks mark.

I have a question though, sorry if it's a bit silly... How many bedding sets do ppl usually get for a crib? I now babies go though a lot of clothes changes but what about bedding.

This is my first and I am clueless :)

3 has always worked for me. that way when one set is soiled you have 2 more to go thru while you wash the other one. laundry is constant with a baby... especially since spit-up stains very quickly. so you'll usually always have a load of laundry ready to go by the time you need to wash the bedding.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack your question but on the back of it I just wondered if I could add:-

When should you have everything ready (hospital bag) for the labour??

I have one bedding set but 2 bedding sheets . and I am sure I am going to buy at least one more bedding sheet + waterproof pads

i always had my bag packed by 32 weeks unless there was risk of preterm. then it was packed at 24 weeks. a new mommy (even if it's not the first child) can never be too prepared :)

I start getting everything at 30 weeks unless I know the delivery is longer. My hospital bag will be ready at 34 weeks, hopefully before then they can delay labour any earlier than that! I always have sets of three for bedding, three sheets, three blankets, then get sleeping bags from 6 months old. xx

Thats a good question too .
I spoke about that with my friend ( she just had a baby ) and she said u technically don't need anything because they are going to give u ( at the hospital ) diapers , white baby bodysuit, pacifiers , sanitary pads and even something to sleep in
so I would guess U have to take stuff u r not going to use from the hospital ,,gifts,, ! otherwise u have everything ready at the hospital I guess ... ! Just have your car seat ready ( so u will not forget that :) )
Thats my opinion

Wow where do you live? We have to take everything. nappies, wipes, dummy, clothes for baby, change of clothes for us etc. They don't give you anything apart from formula bottles if you don't plan to breastfeed. xx

Its good to have everything ready but dont panic, there is still time :) x

When I was 23 weeks I panicked about not having everything ready, I think my nesting instincts suddenly kicked in once christmas was over!

I'm now nearly 26 weeks and nearly have everything ready! Just got a few more bits left to buy, like the car seat and a breast pump. I've ordered my pram but am just waiting for it to be delivered. My OH even put the cot up yesterday!

I don't think there is a specific time frame when everything should be done by. Everyone is in different situations and have to manage different finances so it depends on that really. I'm a very organised person and have to have everything ready quite early just in case he arrives early :)

of course We still have some time . But then its gonna be a lot of money at once and I don't want that ,because then its gonna be a problem I know that . Thats why I would like to start now and buy every week something , And start painting the nursery etc . I hope we will stick to my plan :haha:

that's true for most hospitals. they do provide almost everything. all 3 of my children were born in different hospitals and a few things i can remember that none of them provided were conditioner, lotion, chapstick, and from my experience you'll definitely want to bring your own pillow. especially if you end up needing a last minute c-section.

pretty much everything for the baby was provided. you'll just want to bring a blanket and outfit for them to come home in. not all the hospitals give you the blankets to keep. most are just for in-hospital use. and the baby usually just gets a 1 long sleeved shirt. other than that it's nice. they even provided pacifiers if you wanted them.

Thats How I like it . Everything ready early ( better than too late ) but the father is too calm and having probably more time than I do otherwise I don't understand how can he be so calm :D

that's a great plan... especially for diapers too. they can be really expensive. but if you buy 1 or 2 packs a month until the baby gets here you'll have a jump start. plus you won't accidentally run out in the middle of the night :D

just don't keep buying the same size... then you'll have too many

I am 21 weeks and I dont have a single thing but an NFL team onesie that I bought before I even knew I was preggo!!

I will be having two showers though, so I have been adding a ton to the registry and what isnt purchased we will buy afterward. Honestly past diapers, crib, car seat, a couple onesies....what do you REALLY need ya know?

If youre worrying you could start to build your collection now and you will have things set up in plenty of time.
