When to introduce a pillow?

Oliver is a terrible sleeper and always has been. We co-sleep from 1am until we get up as he has never settled in his cot. Lately when he naps on the sofa, or in the morning in bed, I've been putting his head on a cushion and he sleeps so much more soundly - so I'm thinking about buying a suitable pillow and putting it in his cot. I think the more he has in there might make him feel a bit more secure and also replicate our bed (which he sleeps wel in), and so hopefully improve his sleeping a little (I'm not hoping for miracles!).

So when did you introduce a pillow? Did it affect your LO's sleep at all?

I got Charlie a toddler pillow from John Lewis when he was around 1 :) Never really made any difference with his sleep though cos it's usually at his feet when we wake up! Go for it and see how he does with it :flow:

We bought one when she was a year old; she was still waking a lot during the night, and we thought it would help, but it didn't

We got one for Belle about a couple of months ago. She's always been a good sleeper and it hasn't affected her at all. She also seems to stay on it quite well. She still has sleeping bags and used to end up at all different angles but now she's usually still on the pillow in the morning

We got Bun a pillow, but out it goes! He only likes to sleep with his toy cars :haha:

I popped a cushion in Zachary's cot when he was 13 months and he seemed to like playing with it, so at 14 months I bought him a proper pillow.

He doesn't use it as a pillow though, he prefers to nuzzle his head under it lol. I was a bit nervous of him doing this, so the pillow I bought is an organic wool and cotton one as it's breathable. I've got organic cotton and bamboo covers to go over it too lol.

Made the world of difference to Madis sleeping pattern. Give it a go, she was just under 1 :flow:

Aliyah was also just under one.
It didn't make a difference to her sleep but thought it'd make it a little more comfy for her anyway!

Ruby was about 18 months. We got one from Ikea, and actually it's a lot flatter than other toddler pillows which Ruby very much preferred. Sadly we left it in a hotel :dohh: No difference to her sleep (she's an ok sleeper anyway but we got the pillow to try and help her with a persistent cough - it didn't)
