Is anyone moisturising yet? My sister asked me today if I had started 'preparing' my skin for my bump. I admitted I hadn't even given it a second thought. She was like 'Oh my god, start now! You have to get your skin ready! '

She was very anxious about stretch marks when she was pregnant so maybe she is being over cautious? I must admit, she has a flawless stomach now...

Kinda made me think I should be moisturising? Anyone else?

I've been doing it since getting my positive. I have dry skin though so was already using it.. now I use cocoa butter and bio oil xx

I started immediately as well although I am not like freaked about it. LOL I am just trying to be proactive

Eeeeeek! Thanks guys.
Off to Boots I go tomorrow!

I started, even though I have terrible stretchmarks from my first. I kinda think if you are going to get them, you will. But I do think moisturizer and oils can help to prevent it to a certain degree.

Later on in pregnancy when your belly gets really ichy, do not scratch. I know a lot of women who have said that scratching made it worse.

I start using coco butter the min I found out I'm pregnant. Did it w my daughter an now w this one. I do it at least twice a day. Morning after shower and before bed and sometimes mid day. Seems to help out alot!

As soon as it started to get itchy! About 15 weeks:) I am not regular at it and didn't get any stretch marks with number one. Hoping for the same with number two!

Honestly, I used cocoa butter twice a day in my last pregnancy and still got stretch marks, not a ton but enough. It all depends on your weight gain and if you're gaining it steadily or a lot at one time

As I start work so early in the morning (meaning I don't have time to allow the moisturiser to soak in), I haven't done much yet.

However, when I have time, I lather on organic 100% avocado oil and massage it in. I leave it on for as long as possible and then wipe off the left overs.

I have never put lotion on my bump/belly, fourth pregnancy and no stretch marks. Nothing will stop you from getting them if you are going to, although lotion helps the itchiness. My mom and sister had lots of stretch marks, no clue why I don't (yet..at least!) but I just don't think lotions do all that much...

I think I started about 8 weeks but some days I forget! Don't really have much of a bump yet, just a bit "fuller" there, but I thought why not start now, even if it doesn't make a difference there is a chance it might! I am using the Mama Mio stretchmark cream, seems v nice.

I started doing mine after my dating scan (was too superstitious to before!) and I use Bio Oil when I'm done showering so the it all goes into my pores whilst they're open, and because then the excess comes off on my towel and doesn't make it icky putting clothes on! I did this every day with my daughter and I got no stretch marks despite my bad excema (exacerbated by pregnancy would you believe). With my son someone told me Palmers cocoa butter was better so I used that instead and I got some big fat wide stretch marks (they are now silver but I hate them all the same!). So this time I'll be back on the Bio Oil and hoping for no more stretch marks!

I agree with these posters, I believe there is something to being genetically predisposed. I however think with using something you may lessen them even if you will get them anyway :)

I started as soon as I got my BFP at 4 weeks xx

I was told stretchmarks are herditary...which a bummer. i used bio oil twice a day and at 38 weeks i had nothing was brill...then the following day baby dropped and my stomach streched soo much. made me cry...but 10months later they complelty faded to silvery lines.

I moisturise with baby oil every time I have a shower - still got stretch marks everywhere though ;)

I started at about 8 weeks, try and do twice a day. I do morning and oh rubs my belly at night. If I'm feeling rough and sick though, I tend not to do it as haven't got the energy.

I started using palmers cocoa butter lastnight. My tummy itches now and again

I started from 7 weeks on.. My boobs lol.. Now im aproaching 12 ill start on my tummy:) started w boobs because ive been gaining size already compared to my stomach lol:)

Been and bought the Cocoa Butter stretch mark cream today. It's was sort of exciting as it's my first pregnancy related purchase since the pregnancy tests! (Prenatal vits don't count, I've been buying them for months) Im so easily pleased!
