When was my CD1?!

Hi Girls - just popping over from the secondary infertility boards as it's so quiet over there, thought I might get more answers here!

I am having such a weird AF and am confused about what I should count as CD1. Just wondering if anyone else has had an AF like this or been told by a FS what to count in cases like this...?

So I normally start spotting at 8dpo and last cycle I did too (only I can't be 100% of ov day as I did 2 days opks both positive, but didn't test the next day, and I got a temp rise but then on 5 and 6 dpo my temps dropped so much that FF removed my red cross and I had to override to put my ov back in ) But I think I probs did ov then (cd14, 14th September, conveniently lol!)

The spotting was normal (for me)- brown cm with flecky bits. Ok this is going to be confusing so I'll put everything in order:

1st Sep CD1
12/13 Sep OPK+
14 Sep Ov (probs)
22nd Sep (8dpo) to 25th (11dpo) spotting
26th Sep - CD1??? I had a BM (sorry!) and a big blob of dark red wet blood, just like I would on a normal cd1, but then followed by a light flow for 2-3 hours, then spotting again (brown and kinda dry)
27th & 28th (CD2-3?) I had light red flow first thing in the morning followed by the brown, dryish spotting for the rest of the day
29th (CD4?) just spotting
30th Sep & today - mega heavy flow, bright red with dark bits/clots. One clot today was over 1cm long. WTFFFFF? I temped on the 30th (I do vaginal but not in AF, but thought she might have cleared off) and temp was 36.9 (high)

(both charts on FF if you are lost by now lol!)

So would you say that CD1 was actually yesterday, the first day of heavy flow, in which case I can't make sense of my ov/opk/temps/LP or was 26th Sep in which case why would AF be getting heavier?

I'm sure there will be people who have answers from FS along shortly. This is just my opinion and I may be wrong.
I would think that the first day of real flow is CD1 and that you may have longer luteal phase than you thought (or at least this month anyway).

That said before my cycles went skew whiffy I never had what most women would call a full flow - my 3 days bleeding would be very light every month and I used to have to tell FF that my spotting was actually light bleeding otherwise it never registered that I was onto a new cycle.

It is a possibility but that would mean an LP of 15 days. I have low progesterone and have charted for years, and my LP has never ever been above 13 and that was in the good old days. In the last year or so it has ranged from 9 to 11 so I think 15 is pretty much impossible lol!

I guess I could have ov'd earlier but then it's a bit weird to get the OPK+ followed by a temp rise. confused.com!

I'd bet on 27th as CD 1, FS's generally disregard spotting in my experience. Not to freak you out but without anything other than a hunch, how certain are you it isn't the AF after a chemical? POASed well and proper?

Thanks hun - had light flow on the 26th though too.

I didn't test at all yeah I know lol! But a think a chemical is unlikely since have been spotting since 8dpo as per normal and, well, wouldn't af after a chemical normally be accompanied by some cramps or something? I have no physical sensation of AF at all other than can literally feel it dripping out!

I don't think pain is a must much less on an ahem...non-virginal womb the first light flow day l meant, yeah... I'd vote for my CP theory to be honest. Why is CD1 so important, could you cheap OPK it like crazy for 10 days this cycle instead? Afterall this is your last TTC cycle

I haven't got many opk's left and as you say, this is my last ttc cycle so don't want to order more! It's not so important - just being a control freak

I would have said the 30th was your CD1. However, that would depend on your 'light flow'. Was it it red or pinky/watered down red. If red then that would be your CD1 otherwise I would stick to 30th.

It was light as in not heavy, but definitely red and flowing. Just weird because it was only there first thing in the morning! x
