What do you think the new guidelines for babies will be or will change to? Things such as weaning, carseats, sleeping positions, breastfeeding, formula etc.

Just curious. And since many of us are now confident in the way we are raising our LOs, how many will do research again before watching your grandbabies?

I think it'll go full circle again and women will be told to out their babies on their tummy after swaddling them and keeping the room hot!!

I think I would be confident in my daughter or son doing their own research and so would do what they asked me. Would like to think so anyway, it's what my mum does for me :)

God knows! Things have changed sooooo much even just in the last 6-7 years. Probably wont have to wean babies til they're 2 by time we're grandparents :dohh:

Yeah who knows but I will just follow my children's instructions to me and not have an opinion on it! Lol xx

I guarantee a million to one we say "well, when you were little we did it like this" AT LEAST once though :haha: I think it's kind of natural lol.

I do BLW with Harrison and when I first started my Nana was like "oh, you can't give him big pieces of food like that! I always cut food into tiny pieces and mushed most things up when your Mum was little." Now she's beyond amazed at how well Harrison can bite chunks if food off and chew them properly :)

I think babies might have to have reward facing car seats till 2 and maybe more things wont be allowed to be eaten till 1. I also that traditional weaning will be in the minority.

Probs not to breastfeed because foruma is best, dont use a cot use a pram for them to sleep in, let them just sit normally in the car - no car seat.

Things are ridicolous and in years to come there gonna be the same

I think the advice has generally been the same for thousands of years, it only seemed to change when modern crap (ie 1800's+) came into 'style'. Hopefully it just goes back to the 'norm'.

My MIL just stayed with us for a week (yes, I'm still alive believe it or not) and some of the advice... wow.

No idea but it'll probably all had changed again. I wonder if our daughters and daughter in laws will be on BnB complaining about us mums and all the outdated advice we're giving them! :haha:

I'm hoping more companies have daycares on site. How much cheaper and better would it be if a few moms hired one nanny to watch the kids in a room down the hall? Then breastfeeding would be easier, prices lower and worker morale higher.

I was talking to my grandma about baby led weaning and she said: "Oh sugar, that's not new. That's what we did before kitchen gadgets." :haha:

One thing I really hope changes in the US is maternity leave. Only allowing six weeks is ridiculous.

I'd like to think / hope things will go back to how they were meant to be and people listen, watch and read their babies rather than what drs, books and research suggests.

We'll all be using hovercrafts by then so babies will be in hover-cribs and we'll be able to program our Nespresso machines with our DNA and it will make breastmilk for us.

What, no?
