I know we're still really early and have plenty of time, but DH and I cannot agree on names. At all.

With DD it was easy. We couldn't agree on boy names, but for girls it was simple. Around 37 weeks, after having looked at DD's 3D ultrasound, I told DH that the name didn't suit her. I threw out another name and DH loved it.

This time around it's not that simple :haha:

Every name I love, DH hates. Every name DH wants, I dislike. Well, it's not so much that I dislike the name he suggests, but they just aren't names I would want/pick for our child. He likes more traditional names where as I'm a little more outside the box :haha:

I have a feeling our baby will be born without a name lol Hopefully once we find out what we're having, it'll be a little easier. (or not lol)

He like names such as: Taylor (his favorite), Bryce (not so much in his traditional), Emily, Emma, etc.

I like those, but there's a whole world of names out there that I feel we can pick from.

I like names such as Novalee, Rasmey, Genevieve, Gabrielle (he dismissed this one only because she'd probably be called Gabby by family and they already call DD (Abigail) Abby).

We don't argue or anything. We bicker playfully lol

Actually, I think we're more in agreement on boys names - though I'm not quite ready to settle lol

Maybe you could try looking back in your family tree for some old names that are traditional, but rarely used anymore?

Letha, Vera, Nora, Ida, Jane, and Charissa are a few names from my family tree that aren't really used anymore, but are still classic.

I have this issue as well. We haven't even discussed girl names because my OH really wants a boy. The name he is set on is Gionni. He's Sicilian and his grandfather's name is John. I am set on Joseph being the middle name at least, after my late father. Gionni reminds me of Snooki's Jersey Shore meathead husband and I just can't get used to Gionni Joseph Thompson. Also, mine and his and my children's names are not so authentic and more traditional... Jyllian, Brandon, Brenden and Caitlyn. Gionni just isn't a fit, in my opinion. I've mentioned Sicilian/Italian names such as Dominic, Vincent or Anthony but he is so set on Gionni or some other foreign sounding name like Francesco, Alejandro or whatever :dohh: I would really like to have a boy as well but if it happens to be a girl that would alleviate the Jersey Shore name dilemma!

It took us ages to agree on names as well. Keep trying, I'm sure you'll find something you both love! :flower: Sounds like you need an unusual old fashioned name.

That's a great idea!

And actually when you posted the name, Nora, I remembered that I love that name and suggested it to DH. He seemed to like it.

He's also suggested Olivia. I never had an opinion on the name, but never imagined naming my daughter Olivia, but I actually kind of like it.

I think we're actually getting somewhere :happydance:

I really like Dominic!

Are you guys going to find out what you're having? I try to not get so hung up on names yet because it might all be for nothing. With DD, before we knew she was a girl, we'd get so heated over boy names :haha:

I really never realized just how hard it is to name your child!

We've made some progress! But I think I may try looking up some more old fashion names and see which ones I like and suggest them to DH.

DH actually joked about maybe Ginevra. DD was originally going to be Zoey Ginevra, but then even considered Ginevra as a first name. He joked about this one, but I think there may have been some seriousness to it. I wouldn't mind revisiting that name!

I love Nora for a baby girl!!

Same here :) I totally forgot about it until the post below my OP! It's in the running now, I think :)

I'm glad you like Nora! I love it too!

I also love Olivia, but it's getting really popular now, so I won't use it.

Nora is an adorable name, I like it too.

Yes I believe we are finding out the gender. I left it up to my OH and so far he says yes.

Now I've made choosing a name even more difficult :dohh: All our names are 7 letters long and I realized they all end with the letter N... so now I'm using that as my guideline. Girl names are pretty easy because I don't have a middle name for a girl. Thought about Jo for middle (instead of Joseph) but not my favorite. Thought of a few boy names as well, though none are close to Gionni. No Italian/Sicilian names seem to end in the letter N, mostly O or I.

Hey we still have plenty of time, right?!

Ooh Caspian is 7 Letters and ends with and n. I always liked that name but dh does not!!

My friend couldn't agree and came to a stand off so they played a board game with her Dh, winner got to pick the name.
