We were trying for a few years with my lg. during the investigations it was found out I had another gynae issue caused by my PCOS that took a year to sort before we moved to clomid. It only took 3 cycles on clomid but it was hit and miss for no reason each month and I didn't even ovulate until cd31 on the cycle I got pg.

Due to the complication I can't try naturally, I have to be on birth control or pregnant.

I'm so grateful for my LO but I can't help feeling I'll worry every day until my family is complete. What if it was just a fluke with the clomid or it doesn't work next time.

Does anyone have any advice on coping in the meantime.

I don't have any advice, but I also worry a lot about my chances of carrying a baby - after two miscarriages and an ectopic.

I am sure that if clomid worked before it will work again. Can you speak to your doctor for advice?

I too have PCOS (and Hypothyroidism), and it took me exactly 3 cycles as well to conceive. I also ovulated later than expected, not much though.

I had my first in another country where things work differently, so it worried me about the waiting times etc, so I went in and spoke to my GP about my situation. He agreed that when the time comes he will prescribe me clomid again without going through all the waiting, tests, etc. The way I see it is, now we know what we are up against and Drs have the tools to address the issues. First time around is much harder because there are a lot of tests, waiting, and we dont know how our bodies will respond. Now, we know we've done it once, so we'll probably be able to do it a second time.

If you are very concerned, I would advise you to reach out to your GP too. I felt much better after doing it

I don't have any advice but wanted to say that I'm in a similar position as you.

My doctor (and myself) suspect I have endometriosis and I'm having surgery this week to confirm. I know that endo can cause problems when TTC so I'm quite worried about it. It took me 13 months to conceive my youngest, which I believe was an effect of the endo, so that worries me even more this time around.

Like others have suggested, maybe talk to your doctor about your concerns and see if they have any advice for you. :flower:

Thanks everyone. At my 6 week checkup I asked my GP about ttc again. I have to be on the mirena when not ttc or pregnant. She agreed that she would refer me immediately without making me ttc which was such a relief.

Last time once my biopsy results came back clear we started clomid that day and were pg 3 cycles later. The most hopeful thing to me is that I have only ever ovulated twice and got pg. the main worry is that clomid didn't work as expected any month.

I feel better knowing she will refer me, hubby and I had a chat and have agreed we will go for referral when LO is 1 as there is a 3 month wait for appointments. On the meantime I'm just going to try and enjoy my LO as much as possible as there's nothing I can do until then.

Here's hoping we are all worrying over nothing!

I'm glad you got to talk to your GP and she's going to refer you right away when you're ready. :flower:

I've heard if you've been ttcing for six months and haven't conceived a baby you should see a fertility specialist.
