five days late and have spent all day trying to not get my hopes up. Took a test and negative. Then an hour later period starts.

Your periods can fluctuate up-to 7 days and still it gets considered as a regular cycle..a lot of factors like
- food you eat
- travel
- work life patterns
- aging
- sleep schedules/patterns
- stress, anxiety and tension levels
- exercise(including running to catch a train/bus, juggling around toddlers, etc) matters a lot and affects your period start and end days.

So don't be annoyed if it happens to you! Just relax cos it's normal and happens to everyone :)

We ladies start anticipating BFPs as soon as we find that period is getting delayed, but we tend to forget how our month looked like when we were busy at work, having to attend a late night party, staying up to help kids study for an exam and stuffs like these matter a lot more than we can imagine!

Our bodies are a big chemical factory, so they keep doing stuffs like these and we should just listen to it closely and keenly so that we are in better control of what goes on :)
